Patent number: 8833070Abstract: A hydro-pneumatic cylinder for converting buoyancy energy of compressed gas into mechanical energy. The cylinder can include a pair of end plates disposed at opposite ends of the cylinder and a drive axle extending longitudinally through the cylinder and passing through the center of each end plate. The cylinder can also include a core support coupled to each end plate and centrally disposed in the cylinder and a plurality of vanes for promoting a low-drag flow. Each of the plurality of vanes is coupled to the core support and the pair of end plates. A bucket is defined by the core support, two of the plurality of vanes, and the pair of end plates. The cylinder further includes a vane support coupled to the plurality of vanes and the core support. The vane support defines a plurality of openings formed therein through which a gas can pass for equalizing pressure in the bucket.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2011Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Gravitair Rights, Inc.Inventors: Gavin P. Publication number: 20140197633Abstract: A crimp fitting comprises a female socket that is configured to be crimped to an end portion of a hard tube. The socket comprises an annealed annular wall that has an inner cylindrical surface portion and at least one annular sealing portion. The cylindrical surface portion lies axially between the socket opening and the annular sealing portion, and has a diameter matched to the OD of the tube. The annular sealing portion has an innermost diameter that is greater than the diameter of the cylindrical surface portion. As the end of the tube is inserted into the socket, the tube cannot slideably contact the annular sealing portion. Thus, the annular sealing portion will not be damaged by the insertion of the tube. Thereafter, the annular sealing portion is radially crimped and ultimately contacts and deforms a portion of the tube in a manner creating interlocking geometry and a pressure seal.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2014Publication date: July 17, 2014Inventors: Forrest Nixon, Michael J. Wilson, Bradley Arment, Steven L. Baue, Michael J. Duggan

Patent number: 8226997Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions of matter comprising a rice grain, which has been at least partially milled, and, on the surface of the rice grain, a coating comprising bran, a material which increases the fiber value of the composition, or a combination thereof. The present invention provides for compositions that may have the benefits of traditional white rice, i.e., soft mouth feel, short cook times, easy to digest, white appearance, long shelf-life, etc., with the benefits of brown rice, i.e., high nutritional value and enhanced flavor. Indeed, the nutritional value of the compositions of the present invention may be equal to or better than that of wholegrain brown rice. The present invention further relates to methods for the preparation of a whole grain rice composition.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2007Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Mars, Inc.Inventors: Yah-Hwa E. Publication number: 20090190445Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for assembling a wall clock having physically separate time indicators onto a wall surface in an accurate and repeatable manner. A plurality of time indicators are temporarily attached to a transfer sheet, each time indicator having a back surface with an adhesive. The time indicators are pre-arranged in a clock pattern on the transfer sheet, such that when the transfer sheet with indicators is placed against a wall surface, the time indicators adhere to the wall surface by way of the adhesive, enabling the transfer sheet to be removed with the time indicators remaining in the clock pattern on the wall surface. The system further includes a clock mechanism having one or more hands configured for placement on the wall surface in operative relation with the time indicators.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2008Publication date: July 30, 2009Inventor: Michael J.
