  • Publication number: 20070006139
Abstract: A system including spreadsheet sheets, makes calculations and data transformations, which is available through a programming interface, and conforms to the grammar and syntax of a target software development language is presented. The system includes an Object Model with Data Structures representing entities involved in spreadsheets. The system includes a Parser and Code Generator that extracts data from a body of spreadsheet data, instantiates instances of Data Structures of the Object Model to represent the spreadsheet data, parses the data and formulas contained in the cells of the spreadsheets, iterates through the instantiated instances of the Data Structures, and generates source code that performs the calculations and data transformations embodied in the spreadsheet data. The system includes a Calculation Engine with software base classes that implement the common structural and data access features of spreadsheet data, and further implement the operations of common spreadsheet functions and operators.

  • Publication number: 20060200361
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, a remote management device is integrated into a processing system, such as a filer or other storage server, and the remote management device and administrative data (such as console data) generated by the processing system are accessible even if the processing system becomes inoperable. The processing system includes a console port that outputs administrative data in the form of administrative data during system operation. The remote management device is accessible remotely, for example through a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN) such as the Internet, or a combination of networks. The remote management device intercepts the administrative data output by the console port and stores the data into memory on the remote management device.

  • Publication number: 20050264572
Abstract: A computer method for simulating motion of at least a portion of a virtual body is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: providing a surfaced body model; capturing or computing motion data for an external surface of the surfaced body; dividing the body model into at least two volumes, one of the volumes comprising at least a portion of the external surface of the surfaced body and being a deformable volume, and one of the volumes being a prescribed motion volume, the two volumes defining an interfacial surface; moving the external surface of the surfaced body according to the motion data while computing motion of the interfacial surface; and, simulating motion of the portion of a body by driving motion of the interfacial surface through the computed motion to provide an accurately positioned moving deformable surface that can be used in garment design.

  • Publication number: 20040260666
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for delivering decision-supported patient data to a clinician to aid the clinician with the diagnosis and treatment of a medical condition. The method including presenting a patient with questions generated by a decision-support module and gathering patient data indicative of the responses to the questions. Each question presented to the patient is based upon the prior questions presented to and the patient data gathered from the patient. Upon receiving the patient data from the client module, evaluating the patient data at the module to generate decision-supported patient data, this supported patient data includes medical condition diagnoses, pertinent medical parameters for the medical condition, and medical care recommendations for the medical condition. • Publication number: 20040227960
Abstract: A user of an electronic printing system in accordance with the invention may create custom print designs locally and provide those custom print designs to a local or remote printer for printing. Upon a user creating a custom print design, the electronic printing system may store the custom design information until an order is placed by the user. Every order may have associated design files and an order file (for example, multiple items in an order). The design file(s) may describe the initial layout of a print design and may reflect updates to the initial layout based upon the custom design created by a user. An imaging engine resident on the remote server(s) of the electronic printing system may convert the information in the design file(s) into an image file for on-screen representation as well as a “ready-to-print” output file that may be retrieved electronically by a remote or local printer facility.

  • Patent number: 6379472
Abstract: The present invention comprises growing gallium nitride films in the presence of bismuth using MBE at temperatures of about 1000 K or less. The present invention further comprises the gallium nitride films fabricated using the inventive fabrication method. The inventive films may be doped with magnesium or other dopants. The gallium nitride films were grown on sapphire substrates using a hollow anode Constricted Glow Discharge nitrogen plasma source. When bismuth was used as a surfactant, two-dimensional gallium nitride crystal sizes ranging between 10 &mgr;m and 20 &mgr;m were observed. This is 20 to 40 times larger than crystal sizes observed when GaN films were grown under similar circumstances but without bismuth. It is thought that the observed increase in crystal size is due bismuth inducing an increased surface diffusion coefficient for gallium. The calculated value of 4.7×10−7 cm2/sec. reveals a virtual substrate temperature of 1258 K which is 260 degrees higher than the actual one.

  • Patent number: 6348187
Abstract: An antimicrobial mouthwash composition that is useful in the prevention and reduction of bad breath, plaque and related gum diseases comprises an antimicrobial effective amount of thymol and one or more other active essential oils; optionally, ethanol in an amount up to about 30% v/v; from about 0.1% to about 8.0% w/v of a peroxide; at least one surfactant in an amount sufficient to solubilize the essential oils; and water. The compositions may be reduced alcohol or alcohol-free compositions. Further a two-part mouthwash system is disclosed, comprising a base composition and a peroxide solution which may be mixed to form an antimicrobial mouthwash composition. The actives not only provide enhanced efficacy but are completely solubilized, thus providing an aesthetically appealing product.

  • Patent number: 6255662
Abstract: A Rutherford backscattering detector for determining the angle of incidence between an ion beam and the crystalline lattice structure of a semiconductor workpiece. A process chamber defines a chamber interior into which one or more workpieces can be inserted for ion treatment, and a rotating workpiece support is disposed within the process chamber for mounting one or more semiconductor workpieces. An energy source sets up an ion plasma from which is created an ion beam which is caused to impact the surface of the semiconductor workpiece. A Rutherford backscattering detector measures the intensity of backscattered particles and the backscattered ion intensity is correlated to an angle of incidence between the ion beam and the crystalline structure of the semiconductor workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6137231
Abstract: A constricted glow discharge chamber and method are disclosed. The polarity and geometry of the constricted glow discharge plasma source is set so that the contamination and energy of the ions discharged from the source are minimized. The several sources can be mounted in parallel and in series to provide a sustained ultra low source of ions in a plasma with contamination below practical detection limits. The source is suitable for applying films of nitrides such as gallium nitride and oxides such as tungsten oxide and for enriching other substances in material surfaces such as oxygen and water vapor, which are difficult process as plasma in any known devices and methods. The source can also be used to assist the deposition of films such as metal films by providing low-energy ions such as argon ions.
