  • Publication number: 20170040073
Abstract: A method for preparing low level radioactive hazardous wastes (LLHZ) for disposal in a landfill. The method includes providing a softsided transportable container at a hazardous debris collection site, where the softsided container has at least three layers of materials, an outer, middle and an inner layer, where the middle layer is a water impervious material. Each layer has a closable opening located on the top of the softsided layer. Hardsided closed containers containing LLHZ located in the interior of the hard container are loaded into the interior of the softsided container. Each layer of the softsided container is then closed, and the package transported and shipped to a disposal site for burial.

  • Publication number: 20160296055
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and system for reducing or eliminating the possibility of cross-contamination between food to be cooked in a cooking device and food cooking in the cooking device. The methods and systems determine the placement into a cooking device of food product to be cooked by the distance sensor, determine a hygienic safe cooking time (HSCT) for that product based on the identification of food product to be cooked, and compare the HSCT to one or more remaining cooking times of food product cooking in the cooking device on levels below and/or above the desired placement of the food product to be cooked. Various methods of identifying the food to be cooked may be employed, both manual and automatic. As a result of the comparison, the methods and systems of the disclosure can identify safe carrier/tray level(s) for accepting placement of the food to be cooked.

  • Publication number: 20160289927
Abstract: A monitoring system for a machine having a bowl is provided. The monitoring system includes a perception sensor provided in association with the bowl of the machine. The perception sensor is configured to generate a signal indicative of a view of the bowl. The monitoring system also includes a controller coupled to the perception sensor. The controller is configured to receive the signal indicative of the view of the howl from the perception sensor. The controller is configured to determine a level of material within the bowl based on the received signal. The controller is configured to determine a current loading status of the bowl based on the determined level of the material. The controller is also configured to provide an indication of the current loading status.

  • Patent number: 9365345
Abstract: A method of lifting a loaded bag with a coupled lifting sling. The bag has a top portion, a closed sidewall, a closed bottom portion, and an opening on the top portion. The method uses a lifting sling coupled to the bag, where the lifting sling is a series of straps that holds the bag. The bag has a series of strap retention devices attached near the bags top edge. The straps are movable vertically in the retention devices. The method includes the steps of loading the bag with a load to a load level, then lifting the lifting straps using a lifting device. The bag's surface above the load line slides down the coupled straps, as the straps are coupled but not attached to the bags above the load line.

  • Publication number: 20160058231
Abstract: A method for carrying out a cooking process in a cooking space of a cooking appliance, comprising the following method steps: simultaneously introducing a plurality of different cooking products arranged on product trays and having associated base cooking parameters into the cooking space; determining at least one updated cooking parameter of each cooking product introduced into the cooking space as a function of the number of introduced product trays, the base cooking parameters, a pre-set optimisation value (TT) and/or an optimisation value (Topt) which can be determined individually for an optimised cooking process which is to be carried out; initiating the optimised cooking process simultaneously for all introduced cooking products; and removing the fully cooked cooking products from the cooking space.

  • Patent number: 9056710
Abstract: A non-self supporting containment bag used in conjunction with a dumpster container. The bag has a center opening that extends across the top of the bag, substantially centered on the top of the bag. The top of the bags is formed with sufficient spare material at the ends of the rectangular shaped bag to allow the top to be inverted over the sides of the container. The opening when closed, has sufficient material to form opposing triangular folds that extends above the top of the bag and the top of the container, when the bag is lining the container.

  • Publication number: 20140001352
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the dielectric barrier electrospray ionization of liquid samples and for the subsequent mass spectrometric analysis of the generated sample ions, in which the respective liquid sample is conducted in a capillary-shaped feed channel, the surrounding wall of which comprises on the outer side, spaced from the free end, an electrode which is separated from the wall by a separating layer made of a dielectric material, wherein at a distance from the free end of the feed channel an inlet of a mass spectrometer forming a counter electrode is arranged, creating an ion formation clearance, the formed ions reaching an openable and closable trap of the mass spectrometer through the inlet, wherein a square-wave voltage is applied between the electrode and the inlet for generating the sample ions and the trap of the mass spectrometer is alternately opened and closed, and wherein the sample ions reaching the trap of the mass spectrometer are analyzed in the mass spectrometer.

  • Patent number: 8506953
Abstract: Described is a microorganism belonging to the group of lactic acid bacteria which is able to drastically reduce the peptide concentration in saliva thereby depleting the substrate used by anaerobic microorganisms of the oral micro-flora which are the causative agent for oral malodour. Moreover, described is a microorganism belonging to the group of lactic acid bacteria which is able to stimulate the growth of Streptococcus salivarius but does not stimulate the growth of Streptococcus mutans and/or Porphyromonas gingivalis. Also described are compositions containing the above-mentioned microorganisms, their use for preventing and/or treating oral malodour and/or halitosis and to methods for preventing and/or treating oral malodour and/or halitosis.
