Abstract: Personalized content is generated from different media items using a content index. The content index is generated or updated by identifying segments of media items that are of particular interest to users. User interactions with the media items are analyzed and metadata of segments of media items that are determined to be of particular interest to the users is recorded. The parameters associated with a request for personalized content for a user are matched with the recorded metadata to identify relevant media items or segments of media items which are transmitted to the user as the personalized content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a ride share platform are provided. One example method includes obtaining a passenger reputation score associated with a passenger requesting a ride. The method includes determining a ride price for the requested ride based at least in part on the passenger reputation score. One example system includes one or more dispatch server computing devices that adjust a base compensation for a candidate driver to provide a ride to a passenger based at least in part on a driver reputation score. The example system communicates an offer to a mobile computing device operated by the candidate driver. The offer enables the candidate driver to assent to or decline to provide the ride to the passenger for the adjusted compensation. Another example system determines a priority order for offering candidate drivers based on value indices that have been adjusted according to candidate driver reputation.

Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire is provided. The tire includes a thread, an inner surface lying opposite the thread, a self-sealing sealant and a sound-absorbing open-cell foam ring arranged inside the pneumatic vehicle tire. The foam ring is adhesively attached to the inner surface and adheres to the self-sealing sealant which is applied before the sound-absorbing open-cell foam ring is attached to the inner surface. The self-sealing sealant has, at least immediately after being applied, a tackiness required for an adhesive attachment of the sound-absorbing open-cell foam ring. A closed-cell material ring is arranged between the sound-absorbing foam ring and the self-sealing sealant to prevent a diffusion of the sealant into the open-cell foam ring. The closed-cell material ring effects an airtight condition.

During operation vehicles in the field will upload their digital multimedia evidence (DME) to a mobile/intermediary upload point(s). These mobile/intermediary upload points preferably comprise computers existing in other vehicles that are not currently connected to a central repository. A mobile recorder (mDVR) will choose a particular mobile/intermediary upload point(s) based on a probability that the mobile upload point(s) will return to a connected upload point to upload the transferred DME.

Abstract: Semiconductor laser diodes, particularly broad area single emitter (BASE) laser diodes of high light output powers are commonly used in opto-electronics. Light output power and stability of such laser diodes are of crucial interest and any degradation during normal use is a significant disadvantage. The present invention concerns an improved design of such laser diodes, the improvement in particular significantly minimizing or avoiding (front) end section degradation at very high light output powers by controlling the current flow in the laser diode in a defined way. This is achieved by controlling the carrier injection, i.e. the injection current, into the laser diode in a novel way by creating single current injection points along the laser diode's longitudinal extension, e.g. along the waveguide. Further, the supply current/voltage of each single or group of current injection point(s) may be separately regulated, further enhancing controllability of the carrier injection.
