  • Patent number: 7179414
Abstract: A shoe including an upper, a lower attached to the upper, and an outsole attached to the lower is presented. In one embodiment, the outsole has a ground contacting surface which includes a first section and a second section, with the first section being formed of a first material and the second section having an outer later formed of a fabric material. The first section is free of the fabric material and is instead formed of other suitable materials, such as rubber, leather, etc. The outsoles and uppers are configured so that they can easily be mixed and matched with one another for assembly of the shoe at time after each of the individual components is separately made.

  • Publication number: 20060192383
Abstract: A polymer fluid flow component configured to sealingly couple with a second fluid flow component, the fluid flow component having a protruding portion and a receiving portion configured to receive the protruding portion. The fluid flow component can include a stop surface disposed on the protruding portion and a cooperating stop surface on the receiving portion to cooperate with the stop surface. The fluid flow component can further include an annular ring integrally formed with the valve, such that the annular ring is subjected to a compressive force when the receiving portion receives the protruding section sealingly coupling the valve and second component. The stop surface can engage the cooperating stop surface to inhibit overtightening of the valve.

  • Patent number: 7036204
Abstract: A method for sealingly coupling a first component and a second component. The method includes forming a polymer male portion attached to the first component. The male portion has a first axis and a first bore extending therethrough. The male portion has a first stop surface, a second stop surface and an annular sealing portion intermediate the first stop surface and the second stop surface. The method also includes forming a polymer female portion attached to the second component. The female portion has a second axis and a second bore extending therethrough. The female portion has a third stop surface, a fourth stop surface and an annular ring intermediate the third stop surface and the fourth stop surface. The male portion is urged towards the female portion so that at least one of the first stop surface is adjacent the third stop surface or the second stop surface is adjacent the fourth stop surface.

  • Publication number: 20050262697
Abstract: A cutting device for cutting an object (i.e., pipes or tubing), the device comprising a first cutting member and a second securing member pivotally coupled together. The first cutting member generally includes a handle portion and a blade portion extending away from the handle portion, the blade portion having at least one blade edge for cutting a portion of the object, and being moveable along a cutting path. The second securing member can include a handle portion and a cradle portion. Additionally, the device can comprise a positioning or nesting element connected to the second securing member proximate the cradle portion, the positioning or nesting element being adapted to hold and securely position a tube or pipe object such that the longitudinal axis of the target object is aligned and secured generally transverse to the longitudinal axis of the securing member and the cutting path of the blade portion.

  • Publication number: 20050131959
Abstract: A superset file browser permits a user to view, in a single display, the superset (i.e., the set union) of file objects from two or more designated file system locations (i.e., directories) on one or more computer systems (local or remote). The uniqueness, or overlap, of file objects between the different designated locations is indicated graphically—typically through the use of different colors and/or icons, alphanumeric labels, popup text, ToolTip text or a combination of these techniques. A superset file browser also permits one-to-many and many-to-many distribution, collection and synchronization operations on the displayed file objects.
