Publication number: 20230344732Abstract: Embodiments disclosed may include a system and/or method for providing an intelligent WAN switching for a device such as a hotspot. Embodiments of the method may include receiving various user inputs. For example, the process may receive one or more user inputs to select one or more network connection parameters, which determine the operating characteristics of a particular network, receive one or more inputs to set a priority level for each of the network connection parameters, and receive one or more inputs to set a threshold level for each of the network connection parameters. Embodiments may be implemented to further monitor a plurality of network connection parameters, as associated with a primary network connection. If a connection parameter associated with the primary network connection crosses an acceptable threshold range and/or a priority level, as described above, the hotspot can switch from a primary network connection to a secondary network connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2022Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: LEIF JORDAN STEIGLEDER, MIKKO JAAKKOLA, SANGRAM TIDKE

Publication number: 20220303273Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for self-learning and Internet-of-Things (IoT) device isolation which can protect a network by communicatively isolating any malicious behavior that may be performed by the IoT devices. Thus, the impact of potentially compromised IoT devices can be mitigated by the disclosed systems and methods. A method can identify the IoT devices, and establish an isolated network to separate communication between the IoT device from a home network. It can be detected whether an IoT device on the isolated network is attempting to communicate with a computer device on the home network, and further determined whether the IoT device is authorized to communicate with this computer device on the home network. In cases where the IoT device is not authorized to communicate with the computer device on the home network, the IoT device can be automatically blocked from communicating with the computer device on the first network.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2021Publication date: September 22, 2022Inventor: Mikko Jaakkola

Publication number: 20220286917Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for 5G service management in a multi-dwelling unit, including updating a FWA device and/or the switch to create further specialized devices for the network. For example, the FWA device can obtain service to the 5G network from a 5G small cell (e.g., gNodeB, base stations, etc.) and then determine throughput or 5G Quality Of Services (QoS) for each home GW or AP of the multi-dwelling unit. Software agents or applications may reside on various locations, including the FWA device/modem, switch, cloud (e.g., local cloud, central cloud, etc.), and home GW/APs to determine bandwidth and QoS provided to each AP using traffic shaping algorithm. Alternative embodiments may include: (1) integrating with a billing system of the service provider (e.g., ISP, etc.) where the FWA device can transmit data used via the 5G communication network or (2) the FWA device acts as a virtual carrier.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2022Publication date: September 8, 2022Inventors: CHRISTOPHER YEATTS, Mikko Jaakkola, Sangram Tidke
