  • Publication number: 20190101654
Abstract: GNSS receiver duty cycling is based on context awareness. Context awareness can be received signal quality, targeted navigation performance, and external information extracted from other sensors or being received from other sources such as cellular system, Wi-Fi, camera, LiDAR, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

  • Patent number: 10239345
Abstract: Conventional whiteboards or chalkboards on which writing is effected using Dry-Erase or chalk markers are enabled for digital conversion of the writing into the digital domain. An indoor positioning subsystem determines the absolute position of a marker with a dry-erase or another conventional writing tip within a local coordinate system to track the location of the marker on the board. Ultra wide band (UWB) is an example technology that may be used for this purpose. An inertial sensor in the marker captures sensor data generated by handwriting by sensing the movement of the marker, essentially tracking the relative positioning and motion of the handwriting. The absolute position and relative positions are then processed to generate digital handwriting which may be refined using deep learning subsystem(s) for handwriting recognition and classification for the data captured by the inertial sensor to determine the most appropriate character or shape of the writing.

  • Publication number: 20180335524
Abstract: A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) device for adaptive multi-rate navigation includes detection of a first set of signal measurements and a second set of signal measurements from a plurality of received and acquired GNSS baseband signals. The detected second set of measurements corresponding to a plurality of measurements associated with signal blockage of the baseband signals, are eliminated. A plurality of tracking loop values are computed only from for the detected first set of signal measurements, at a defined tracking loop rate based on the received baseband signals. A motion-path of the device computed based on at least the computed plurality of tracking loop values for the detected first set of signal measurements.

  • Patent number: 10018730
Abstract: A method of determining a position of a GNSS receiver includes: receiving, at the GNSS receiver, information from at least two GNSS satellites and an estimated location area from a non-GNSS positioning application, determining candidate pseudoranges corresponding to candidate correlation peaks determined based on the information received from the at least two GNSS satellites; determining possible positions of the GNSS receiver using the candidate pseudoranges and the estimated location area; determining a best possible position of the GNSS receiver from the possible positions; and setting the best possible position as the position of the GNSS receiver; wherein when multiple candidate correlation peaks corresponding to one of the at least two GNSS satellites are determined, the estimated location area is usable to reduce the number of candidate correlation peaks prior to candidate pseudoranges being determined.

  • Publication number: 20180187546
Abstract: A method for transmitting data from a MWD system at the BHA of a drill string may include transmitting the data in a MWD signal from the MWD system. The MWD signal may be modulated at a position closer to the surface onto a mud pulse modulated signal. The mud pulse modulated signal may be generated by a downhole friction reducing device. The downhole friction reducing device may include a mud motor. The mud motor may create pressure pulses based on its speed of rotation. The downhole friction reducing device may include a modulating valve. The modulating valve may be electromechanically or mechanically operated. The modulated signal may be detected at the surface by a receiver using one or more pressure or flow sensors. The receiver may use one or more harmonics of the modulated signal to receive the data.
