  • Publication number: 20040120167
Abstract: A plurality of control power sources of voltage specifications different from one another are constructed. A generator output converted by a converter into a DC current is converted by an inverter into an AC current of a predetermined frequency. The generation output is rectified by second rectifier circuits and a capacitor and is then input to an RCC. The RCC constitutes a self-excited oscillation circuit, energy is stored into a transformer in an ON time of a transistor corresponding to an oscillation frequency thereof, and the energy is transferred to a secondary side in an OFF time. In the secondary side of the RCC, windings are formed corresponding to the number of required power sources. One group of windings forms both positive and negative power sources of a control power source, and another group of windings forms a power source for an FET driver.

  • Patent number: 6740986
Abstract: The throttle opening setting value provided from a throttle controller 108 may exceed the actual controllable range of the throttle opening. The value stored in an output voltage setter 20 is read out in response to its throttle opening setting value and transferred to a correction signal generator 21. The generator 21 supplies a correction signal determined by the output voltage setting to a modulator 23. PWM signal is transferred to an inverter 3 for determining the output voltage. When receiving the opening setting value indicative of overloading, the output voltage setter 20 releases a smaller value to decrease the output of the generator.

  • Patent number: 6713887
Abstract: The operation of a generator is improved in the efficiency throughout a wider speed range. The generator of a magnetic type is provided where a direct current output of a converter including semiconductor rectifying devices for rectifying the output of the generator is converted by an inverter to an alternating current form at a particular frequency. The conduction of thyristors is determined by a thyristor drive unit to control the voltage output of the converter to a target voltage level. The target voltage level is set to a positive value corresponding to the speed of the generator. The target voltage level is lowered when the generator is operated at a lower speed range and elevated when at a higher speed range. Accordingly, the output of the magnetic generator is increased substantially in proportion to the speed.

  • Patent number: 6639810
Abstract: An inverter 3 is controlled by feeding back an output voltage waveform for stabilizing the output and circuitry simplification. The output waveform of an inverter 3 is supplied to a CPU 5 to generate a correction of the reference sine waveform signal RS which is then used for producing a desired form of PWM signal. The output waveform is A/D converted by a converter 18 which comprises two modules 19 and 20 before transferred to a processor 50. The output waveform is received by two channels of each of the modules 19 and 20. As the input channels are sampled in a sequence, their waveforms are A/D converted at intervals of a time in each sampling period and can thus be improved in the resolution of A/D conversion. Since the modules 19 and 20 are operated at different timings lagged slightly from each other, the resolution can be increased.

  • Patent number: 6624528
Abstract: It is featured that a generator can respond to a variation in the load with a generous margin regardless of the its temperature. The output current of the generator 1 is rectified with a converter 3 consisting mainly of a thyristor bridge. A direct current output of the converter 3 is then converted by an inverter 4 into an alternating current at a commercial frequency and then connected to the load 5. The engine speed is controlled so that the on state angle of the thyristors in the converter 3 is maintained to a target angle. Since the target angle is set within a range not higher than the maximum limit, the generator can constantly run with a generous margin and readily respond to a variation in the load. The target angle can be modified depending on the temperature of the generator 1 in order to inhibit the engine from being overloaded and its speed from increasing excessively.

  • Patent number: 6552515
Abstract: The performance of a generator is improved in a higher range of the output by correcting a decrease in the average direct current voltage supplied to an inverter. An average calculator calculates an average of direct current voltage inputs to the inverter for comparing with a target voltage (level) VDC. When it is judged by an average voltage deviation detector that the average is smaller by a specific amount than the target voltage level, the target voltage level is increased by an adjusting unit. A conductor angle setting unit determines the conduction angle of thyristors to change the voltage input of the inverter to an adjusted target voltage level VDCm. A thyristor drive circuit controls the conduction of the thyristors in the converter according to the conduction angle.

  • Patent number: 6541876
Abstract: A generator system arranged to respond to a variation in the load with a generous margin regardless of a change in the output of the generator or the engine due to degradation with the passage of time. The output current of the generator is rectified by a converter composed of thyristors in a bridge configuration of which the direct current output is converted by an inverter into an alternating current at a commercial frequency and connected to a load. The engine speed is controlled so that the conduction angle of the thyristors in the converter can be held at a target degree. As the target degree stays within a range smaller than the maximum limit, the generator runs with a margin, thus readily responding to a variation in the load. When the throttle opening is excessively opened, the target conduction angle is decreased to increase a target speed of the engine, hence inhibiting the engine from being overloaded and running at an excessive higher speed.
