  • Patent number: 6050851
Abstract: An electric connector is provided which can enhance a mounting density on a printed circuit board, and improve tail protection during transportation. An electric connector (1) of the present device includes a housing (2) which is molded out of an electric insulating material and has a lower face facing a printed circuit board B when being mounted on the printed circuit board and an upper face situated opposite to the lower face, a plurality of terminals (4) as an electric contact, which are retained at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction of the housing (2) and each have a tail portion 6 projecting from the lower face of the housing (2) and soldered to the printed circuit board B, and a retaining member (12) which is fitted on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the housing (2) and holds down the housing (2) on the printed circuit board B from its top by being soldered to the printed circuit board B.

  • Patent number: 6045377
Abstract: A connector apparatus for a card-like data processing medium has an ejection mechanism for discharging the card-like data processing medium from the connector apparatus. The ejection mechanism comprises a slidable plate that is movably mounted on a frame of the connector apparatus and has a pawl that engages with a forward end face of the card-like data processing medium. The slidable plate slides back and forth in a plane that is substantially parallel to a plane defined by the frame in order to eject the card-like data processing medium. A pivotal lever for transmitting movement of a push rod into movement of the slidable plate is rotatably mounted on the frame in the same plane as the slidable plate, thereby reducing the profile of the connector apparatus. In an alternate embodiment, the pivotal lever is replaced by a plurality of gears that transmit movement of the push rod into movement of the slidable plate.

  • Patent number: 6033243
Abstract: An ejecting mechanism-equipped card connector is provided which includes an actuator member which moves lineraly over a width direction of a slider during the opening of the slider. The actuator member is supported by at least two positions on end faces along the slide direction. A push rod is displaced inwardly by means of the actuator member to operate the ejecting mechanism in a manner so that the application of excessive unbalanced force on component parts is avoided.

  • Patent number: 5871365
Abstract: An ejecting mechanism-equipped card connector is provided which can be manufactured as a simpler and low cost unit. The card connector has a movable actuator member (74) arranged at an inner end section (52) of a push rod (50) and a cam groove (66) provided in a header body (14a) and operating the actuator member. The cam groove (66) has a drive section (66a) for, when the push rod (50) is moved from an extended position to a pushed-in position of the push rod (50), laterally projecting and guiding the actuator member (74), a latching section (66b) for, when an urging force on the pushed-in rod is released, retracting the actuator member (74) to a position not engageable with the projection (48) to latch it, and a return section (66c) for, when the push rod (50) is urged, unlatching the actuator member (74).

  • Patent number: 4659158
Abstract: An electric connector comprises a female contact and a thermoplastic housing. The contact has upper and lower click pieces. The housing has a contact receiving hollow open on its rear side. A pair of slits, spaced apart from each other, are cut in the top of the housing. One end of each slit reaches an opening of the hollow. A projection for retaining the upper click piece is formed on the lower surface of that portion of the top which is defined by the two slits. A step for retaining the lower click piece is cut in the inner surface of the bottom of the housing and faces the projection.
