  • Patent number: 6702546
Abstract: A turbine fuel pump for smoothly flowing fuel in a fuel inlet passage, preventing a pressure loss at a start end of a pump flow passage to prevent generation of a local negative pressure, thereby increasing pump efficiency. The turbine fuel pump includes an impeller with blades and blade grooves, and a pump housing having first and second housings for rotatably storing the impeller. The first housing has a C-shaped side groove, a fuel inlet passage which bends at a start end of the side groove toward the center of the first housing, and an opening on an outer side surface. The second housing has a C-shaped side groove, and a fuel outlet opening communicating with a terminal end of the side groove.

  • Patent number: 6700281
Abstract: A DC motor includes an armature winding that includes a first coil group of a plurality of phase coils and a second coil group of a plurality of phase coils, a commutator, a brush unit that includes two pairs of brushes and a motor current supply device. The first and second coil groups are connected in series to a DC power source via the commutator and the two pairs of brushes to be supplied with motor current by the motor current control device. Therefore, voltage applied across the brushes and the commutator is reduced, and arc discharge is suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20040009105
Abstract: A converter case with prominent reliance/endurance in spite of a smaller number of parts and inexpensiveness. Contents 3 and 4 of a catalyst carrier etc. are received in a multistage state within a converter case 2, which has openings 7 and 8 at both ends of a metallic pipe 6. The converter case 2 is formed of accommodating pipe portions 11 and 12 and a connecting pipe portion 13. The accommodating pipe portions 11 and 12 allow for accommodating the contents 3 and 4. The connecting pipe portion 13 connects the accommodating pipe portions 11 and 12 to one another. A radially reduced part 14 is integrally formed on the connecting pipe portion 13.

  • Publication number: 20030209627
Abstract: A multi-layer coil is wound around a bobbin having a center pillar and a small and a large flanges connected to longitudinal ends of the center pillar. A winding space having a trapezoidal cross-section in a plane cut through the center axis of the bobbin is formed outside the center pillar between both flanges. To wind the multi-layer coil in this winding space, a turning position where a layer of the coil moves up to a higher layer is set by a position setter, and the turning position is automatically shifted layer by layer to form a sloped outer surface of the coil. The coil is wound in a shape fitting the trapezoidal winding space without reducing the winding speed. The space factor of the coil in the winding space is improved, making the coil compact in size.

  • Publication number: 20030202893
Abstract: In a fuel pump, four permanent magnets are installed in a housing. An armature is installed inside the permanent magnets rotatably. Six magnetic pole coil portions of the armature are installed in a central core. Each magnetic pole coil portion has a coil core, a bobbin and a coil formed by winding a winding on the bobbin in a concentrated winding form. Each coil core has an outer region in opposition to the permanent magnet in a direction of revolution, and a board-shaped coil-winding portion extending from the outer region toward the central core. Each bobbin covers the coil core except for the outer surface of the outer region and a convex portion.

  • Patent number: 6617741
Abstract: A commutator having even number (2n) of commutator segments and n segment pairs, each pair consisting of two commutator segments positioned symmetrically with respect to a commutator center, is mounted on a rotor of an electric rotary machine. The commutator segments are electrically insulated from one another, while the commutator segments in each pair are electrically connected to each other. A metallic base plate and a carbon segment plate are molded together with resin, and then the commutator segments are separated into individual segments. Connecting portions for electrically connecting the commutator segments in each pair are formed integrally with the metallic base plate at positions depressed from a surface of the metallic base plate, so that the connecting portions are not cut in the process of separating the segment plate into individual commutator segments.

Abstract: A rotor has magnets segmented in a circumferential direction of a periphery of a shaft, wherein magnetizing directions of the segmented magnets continuously vary, and a non-magnetic material or a ferromagnetic material is interposed in a circumferential gap between the segmented magnets. Further, a method of manufacturing a rotor comprises steps of arranging coils so that a longitudinal direction of each of the coils is along an axis of the shaft and magnetizing the segmented magnets. Still further, a rotary machine uses the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20030026722
Abstract: Two-inner gears are overlapped with each other through a partition wall and are eccentrically arranged at an inner peripheral side of an outer gear, and eccentric directions of both the inner gears are shifted from each other by 180° to the opposite side. By this, loads in an outer diameter direction due to a rise in fuel pressure affect one outer gear from the two inner gears oppositely to each other by 180°, so that an eccentric load is not generated, and sliding resistance of the outer gear to a cylindrical casing becomes small. Further, the number of teeth of the outer gear is made odd, and the number of teeth of the inner gears is made even.

  • Patent number: 6502557
Abstract: When a pump operates, a check valve body leaves a check valve seat due to a pump side fuel pressure for opening a fluid passage inside a pressure adjusting valve body. When the pump does not operate, the check valve body contacts the check valve seat due to an engine side fuel pressure for closing the fluid passage. Thus, the engine side fuel is prevented from flowing-back to the pump. When the pump stops operating and the engine side fuel pressure exceeds a pressure corresponding to an urging force of a coil spring, the pressure adjusting valve body leaves the pressure adjusting valve seat with the check valve body, so that a gap is provided between the pressure adjusting valve body and the pressure adjusting valve seat for releasing the engine side fuel having excess pressure.

  • Publication number: 20020141860
Abstract: A turbine pump includes a casing having an inlet, an outlet and front and rear arc-shaped pump passages and an impeller. The impeller has plural impeller partitions respectively disposed between every two of the blades thereby forming impeller grooves at front and rear sides of the partitions and an outer ring at the peripheral edge of the blades. Each impeller groove, each of pump passage and the outer ring form a space for circulating fuel. The outside diameter of the impeller is smaller than the pump passages so that the impeller does not contact the pump passages.

  • Patent number: 6326748
Abstract: A brushless motor composed of a cylindrical stator and a magnet rotor rotatably supported in the stator is driven by a battery. The stator includes a multi-phase armature winding to which current is supplied from the battery through a drive-control circuit. The drive-control circuit includes switching elements that are selectively turned on and off to generate a rotating magnetic field in the stator. The switch-timing of the switching elements is controlled according to a rotational position of the rotor and the battery voltage. When the battery voltage is normal, the switch-timing is set to an optimum point so that a maximum efficiency of the brushless motor is obtained. When the battery voltage becomes low, the switch-timing is advanced to secure a required motor speed. Thus, the required motor speed is always secured without using additional devices such as a voltage stabilizer or a pulse-width modulation controller.
