    Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition excellent in its drawability, which comprises (A) a saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer having an ethylene content of 20 to 55 mole % and a saponification degree of at least 95%, (B) a saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer having an ethylene content of 25 to 60 mole % and a saponification degree of at least 90%, the ethylene content of the saponified copolymer (B) being higher by at least 3 mole % than the ethylene content of the saponified copolymer (A), and (C) a polyamide, wherein the weight ratio of the saponified copolymer (A) to the saponified copolymer (B) is in the range of from 90/10 to 10/90 and the weight ratio of the sum of the saponified copolymers (A) and (B) to the polyamide (C) is in the range of from 95/5 to 5/95. The resin compositions have excellent gas barrier properties and can be molded into films or sheets or laminated with other film-forming materials.

    Abstract: A tubular plastic container having a molecularly oriented sidewall portion is made by bringing the peripheral portion of a solid blank in engagement with the shoulder portion of a die, introducing the blank into a cavity of the die while compressing with a first and second plungers, such that in the former stage of the introduction, the speed is relatively low and the pressure is relatively high, and then the speed is increased at a controlled rate and the pressure is decreased, thereby forming a hollow molded piece, and then expanding the molded piece to bringing the sidewall portion thereof into contact with the inner surface of the cavity.

    Abstract: The peripheral portion of a flat, molecularly orientable material stock of substantially uniform thickness having a temperature below the upper limit of the molecularly orientable temperatures of the plastic material is clamped, and the central portion of the plastic material stock is introduced into a die cavity while compressing the central portion with an upper plunger and a lower plunger, thereby forming a hollow preform having a sidewall portion made from the plastic material which has been forced out from between the upper plunger and the lower plunger, while the sidewall portion is kept in contact with the side surface of the upper plunger kept at about molecularly orientable temperature.
