  • Patent number: 7280131
Abstract: An image formation device changes the rotational rate of a polygon motor, i.e. the main-scanning rate, and selects one of pulse width conversion tables when an image formation is performed multiple times on a single sheet of transfer paper. The changing of the main-scanning rate is for preventing inconsistent sizes between a first recorded image and a second recorded image caused by shrinkage of transfer paper. The pulse width conversion tables allow the pulse widths to be modulated.

  • Publication number: 20070097439
Abstract: Recent copying machines have higher image quality, and the halftone processing methods are diversifying. If automatic tone correction is applied in correspondence with the diversified halftone processing methods, a long operation time is required. Hence, a sample chart based on the sample data is formed by a printer. A reader acquires image data of the sample chart, and the tone correction characteristics of a density correction unit corresponding to the image processing are updated based on the image data of the sample chart. In this case, generation of sample charts and updating of the tone correction characteristics are controlled in accordance with a user instruction as to whether or not to execute batch update processing of the tone correction characteristics of the density correction unit corresponding to the plurality of halftone processing methods.

  • Patent number: 7197255
Abstract: An image forming apparatus which is capable of reducing a color misalignment in a color overlapping process, and a color misalignment due to variation of the circumferential length of an intermediate transfer member due to an environmental change over time during a successive copy operation. The image forming apparatus carries out image formation by primarily transferring an image electrophotographically formed on an image carrier onto the rotatably driven intermediate transfer member, and then secondarily transferring the images on the intermediate transfer member onto a recording medium. An image forming operation of primarily transferring the image onto the intermediate transfer member is controlled according to the length of the intermediate transfer member in a circumferentially moving direction thereof and a variation of a predetermined parameter relating to the intermediate transfer member.

  • Patent number: 7196717
Abstract: An image forming apparatus which is capable of eliminating density irregularities of an image formed caused by potential irregularities of the photosensitive member when the drum is irradiated by a beam of constant luminous intensity. A laser driver irradiates a beam modulated based on an image signal onto a photosensitive member. A current controller variably controls a driving current for driving the laser driver. A PWM pulse width converter modulates a pulse width of the beam based on the image signal. A potential sensor measures the potential of the photosensitive member after the photosensitive member is irradiated by a beam having a predetermined luminous intensity. A selector causes the current controller to correct the driving current based on low frequency components of irregularities of the potential and changes a modulation coefficient used for modulating the pulse width based on high frequency components of the irregularities of the potential.

  • Publication number: 20060250644
Abstract: This specification discloses a system, apparatus, and method for preventing leakage of various kinds of information (e.g., various kinds of setting information, software, user data, and job information) from a storage device which supplies information to an image forming apparatus. More specifically, in an image forming system including an image forming apparatus which is connected to a storage device and forms an image by using information read out from the storage device, and an information processing apparatus which manages the image forming apparatus, the information processing apparatus determines whether to permit communication between the storage device and the image forming apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20060253610
Abstract: A data receiving system which enables, even when the location of a recipient is changed, a sender to always send data to the same transmission destination, and the recipient to obtain received data from a nearest output terminal apparatus. A server as the data receiving apparatus receives data addressed to an IP address, as received data through the Internet. A multi-function peripheral as an output terminal apparatus receives the received data from the server and outputs the same. In this case, the server selects the multi-function peripheral from registered multi-function peripherals based on the IP address to which the received data is addressed, and relationship map information, and then transfers the received data to the selected multi-function peripheral.
