Abstract: If it is desired to display the number of copies which can be outputted corresponding to the defined capacity of a developer which is determined by an image forming apparatus, a document which is thought to have a substantially average black ratio of the respective black ratios of images actually recorded by the image forming apparatus is prepared. The prepared document is set in reading means. An image of the set document is read by reading means. The black ratio of the image of the document is calculated on the basis of an output of the reading means. The number of copies which can be outputted corresponding to the defined capacity of the developer which is determined by the image forming apparatus is calculated on the basis of the calculated black ratio. The calculated number of copies which can be outputted is displayed.

Abstract: In a transfer unit of a non-contact roller transfer method, both ends of a transfer roller shaft are supported independently of each other so as to be movable upward and downward, and an upward pushing force is provided thereto. A gap maintaining roller provided in the vicinity of each end portion of the transfer roller shaft is always in contact with the surface of a photoreceptor drum so that the gap between the surface of the photoreceptor drum and the transfer roller is maintained uniform and fixed. Further, both ends of a pre-transfer guide for guiding the sheet to the photoreceptor drum are supported in a manner such that the movement of each end accords with the movement of the end portion of the transfer roller, so that the distance between the photoreceptor drum and the pre-transfer guide is maintained uniform and fixed.

Abstract: In a facsimile apparatus, a received image data is stored in a memory, and an image represented by the image data is enlarged according to an enlargement ratio determined by the user and is outputted onto recording paper. The image data stored in the memory is maintained until another image data is received.

Abstract: A paper feeding cassette case in an image forming apparatus according to the present invention is so adapted that an arbitrary internal unit out of a plurality of types of internal units including at least one internal unit of a universal type having a structure in which paper sheets of a plurality of sizes requiring the switching of the printing ranges can be set can be attached thereto. In the paper feeding cassette case, detecting member mounting portions are respectively formed in different positions respectively corresponding to the types of internal units, and the detecting member and each of the detecting member mounting portions are provided with mounting member for detachably mounting the detecting member on the detecting member mounting portion.
