  • Patent number: 10417371
Abstract: Various implementations described herein are directed to an apparatus. The apparatus may include a region identifier module that receives a floorplan of an integrated circuit, identifies a standard cell region between already placed functional blocks of the floorplan, and sub-divides the standard cell region into multiple sub-regions. The apparatus may include a region analyzer module that analyzes each sub-region of the multiple sub-regions to determine a number of already placed power straps that exist within a boundary of each sub-region. The apparatus may include a strap placement module that inserts one or more additional power straps in each sub-region based on user defined parameters for each sub-region, if it is determined that the number of already placed power straps is inconsistent with the user defined parameters for each sub-region.

  • Publication number: 20180262779
Abstract: Systems, devices and automated processes reduce the effects of unwanted interruption during video encoding by reserving header space at the outset of video encoding. This reserved space can be progressively filled on any periodic or other basis as encoding continues so that a recent header is always available. If an interruption occurs, only the video content encoded after the last header write will be lost, thereby greatly reducing the effects of the interruption.

  • Patent number: 10055234
Abstract: A computer system firmware is provided that includes functionality for using a system management mode (SMM) to efficiently boot to a secondary operating system prior to booting to a primary operating system. The SMM is utilized to store data describing the state of the computer system at a point just prior to booting the secondary operating system. This data is used following execution of the secondary operating system to restore the system to the same state that it was in prior to executing the secondary operating system. Execution can then be continued at a location just following the location at which the secondary operating system was booted in order to execute a primary operating system.

  • Patent number: 9920342
Abstract: A novel process for the preparation of L-threo-dihydroxyphenylserine (Droxidopa) is described. It comprises of enantioselective hydrolysis of racemic (DL)-threo-N-acetyl-3-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-serine using commercially available L-amino acylase from Aspergillus sp. (EC 3.5.1.14) in the presence of cobalt ions, to obtain (L)-threo-3-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-serine followed by dealkylation to obtain Droxidopa. Protecting the amino group of (L)-threo-3-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-serine using either benzyloxycarbonyl or phthaloyl group before dealkylation followed by deprotection of the amino group results in obtaining Droxidopa in high yields and purity.
