  • Publication number: 20100329815
Abstract: A retainer assembly comprises a pin including a head and a flange defining a groove therebetween for engaging a first panel. A grommet includes a collar encompassing the pin and flexible arms extending from a hinge point at the collar. The assembly is initially in a shipped position wherein the flexible arms extend along the pin and are maintained in a pocket between ribs of the pin. The pin is inserted through a second panel until the collar engages the second panel. The grommet bends at the hinge points allowing the flexible arms to slide out of the pocket and adjustable engage the pin and the second panel until the second panel is maintained in position by the flexible arms, collar, and flange. Upon removing the assembly from the panels, the grommet adjusts back to the shipped position and the assembly is ready for reuse.

  • Publication number: 20100219034
Abstract: A control assembly (10) for controlling the actuation of two clutch packs (50, 52) includes a motor (12) for driving an annular gear wheel (24). Radial pins (30) project from the gear wheel to engage concentric pistons (34, 36) arranged for linear movement relative to one another along the axis of rotation of the gear wheel. Each piston includes slots (40) which define cam surfaces for engagement by the drive pins. Rotation of the gear wheel in first direction causes the pins to drive against cam surfaces on the inner piston, to drive the inner piston towards the inner clutch. Rotation of the gear wheel in the opposite direction causes the pins to drive against cam surfaces on the outer piston, to drive the outer piston towards the outer clutch.

  • Publication number: 20080023381
Abstract: The present application relates to a filtration system (1) having at least one flexible filter (9) and cleaning apparatus (25) for projecting a flow of fluid onto the at least one flexible filter. The fluid to be filtered passes through the at least cone flexible filter (9) and causes the at least one flexible filter (9) to be deflected in a first direction. The flow of fluid projected onto the at least one flexible filter (9) from the cleaning apparatus (25) causes the at least one flexible filter (9) to be deflected in a second direction. The first and second directions are substantially opposite to each other. The present invention further relates to a filtration system (1) for filtering particulates from a liquid. The filtration system has a sealed vessel (2) suitable for supporting a pressure less than atmospheric pressure. A filter (9) is provided for filtering particulates from the liquid. The application also relates to a method of filtering fluid.

  • Patent number: 6594870
Abstract: A fastener for coupling a trim panel to a support member includes a mounting grommet with a funnel-shaped receiver communicating with an aperture for receiving one end of a fastener pin having a plurality of spaced annular ratcheting grooves formed thereon. The opposite or second end of the pin includes a pointed end with a pair of resilient locking arms, which extend divergently outwardly and away from an apex of the second end of the pin at an acute angle and at a spacing of about 180°, for insertion into an aperture of a support structure. Interposed between the first and second ends of the fastening pin is a resilient, generally cup-shaped seal which engages a surface of the support structure opposite the locking arms for providing a seal surrounding the aperture in the support structure to which the fastening pin is inserted. The grommet includes an annular slot defined by a collar on one side and a shoulder of the funnel-shaped receiver on the other.
