Abstract: A surrounding recognition assisting device for a vehicle includes an image receiving portion for receiving a captured footage, which is configured with plural frames captured by an image capturing device for capturing a view around the vehicle, a target image area-detecting portion for detecting an image area including a picture element belonging to a predetermined color space corresponding to a display color of a direction indicator within a target frame out of plural frames, as a target image area, a residual image generating portion for applying a predetermined weighting to an image within the target image area to generate a residual image, and a display image generating portion for superimposing the residual image on at least one of frames following the target frame so that the residual image is superimposed on the frame at a corresponding coordinate to generate a display image to be displayed on a display device.

Abstract: A vehicle surrounding recognition support system for a vehicle includes a contact detection device detecting whether or not a driver of the vehicle touches a turn signal operating lever or moves his/her hand close to the turn signal operating lever, an object position detecting device detecting a position of an object existing around the vehicle, an object information identification device identifying information relating to the object in accordance with a result of detection of the object position detecting device, and a warning device warning the driver about the existence of the object in accordance with the information of the object, identified by the object information identification device, when the contact detection device detects that the driver touches the turn signal operating lever or moves his/her hand close to the turn signal operating lever.

Abstract: A surrounding recognition support system includes a distance marker display section displaying a distance marker on a monitor for a user to identify the distance marker, which indicates a distance from the user to a predetermined area and allows the user to visually sense the distance when the user looks at the monitor, and a sound output section emitting a special sound corresponding to the distance indicated by the distance marker when the distance marker is displayed on the monitor by the distance marker display section. The sound output section emits the special sound in response to a result of detection of an object detection portion detecting the object existing around the user within the predetermined area defined by the distance indicated by the distance marker.

Abstract: A surrounding recognition support system includes an image processing portion receiving a captured image of a surrounding of a vehicle and performing an image processing on the captured image received, an object position detecting portion detecting a position of an object present in a vicinity of the vehicle, an object identification portion identifying information related to the object, a formative image generation portion generating a formative image that suggests a presence of the object existing within a specific area and existing out of an image captured area of the image capturing device, the object being identified by the object identification portion, and a display image control portion performing an image compositing process on the formative image and the captured image on which the image processing has been performed, and outputting a composite image obtained resulting from the image compositing process to a display device installed within the vehicle.
