The cooler includes a refrigerant generator and a cooling air blower. The controller is configured to perform a first control and a second control. The controller performs one of the first and second controls based on information on the activation of the projector from the activation of the projector. In the second control, the controller performs at least one of a luminance control and an output control, the luminance control which reduces the luminance of the light outputted from the light source to a value smaller than the luminance of the light in the first control, and the output control which increases the output of the cooling air blower to a value larger than the output of the cooling air blower in the first control.
