  • Patent number: 6276860
Abstract: A liquid applicator has a vaned collector. The collector's rear end is abutted on a partition having a concave portion, creating a gap B therebetween. A cylindrical projection is formed inside the rear sleeve concentrically on its axis so that a replaceable cartridge holding ink is removably attached with its front end fitted to the cylindrical projection. A trunk core's rear end is inserted into a communication passage that is formed in the cylindrical projection with a gap A formed between the trunk core surface and the wall surface of the communication passage. This gap A is put in communication with an ink slit of the collector via gap B. Grooves are formed in the convex portion while a number of ribs are formed apart with respect to a barrel's circumference on inner peripheral surface of the communication passage of the cylindrical projection. These ribs stably support the rear end of the trunk core.

  • Patent number: 6266152
Abstract: An image processor which easily sets color matching processing for each object in an image in accordance with a user's utilization of the image, as well as performing color matching processing suitable for each object and obtaining a high quality output image. In the processor, the type of the output image is manually set from an operation unit, a driver inputs an object image included in the output image, determines the type of the input object image, and performs color matching processing on the object image on the basis of the pre-stored profile information corresponding to the determined type of the object image and the set type of the output image. A controller of a printer assigns priority to gray color reproduction, and always applies gray compensation to a text image, but not to a natural image, and controls whether or not to apply gray compensation to a graphic image in accordance with a manual instruction.

  • Patent number: 6070960
Abstract: According to the invention, whether a print head of, for example, the thermal jet system has been capped or not is informed to the user, thereby preventing that the user turns off the power source when the head is not capped. Even when the user turns off the power source in spite of the fact that the head is not capped yet, the capping status is checked before the power source is turned off. After the head was capped, the power source is turned off. Due to this, it is prevented that the print head is left while the head is not capped yet. The choking of the nozzles can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5678941
Abstract: A fluid applicator which makes application work easy because liquid splash outside the container body is prevented by opening the valve by removing the cap such that the liquid is supplied directly to the applicator member from the container body. The valve body incorporated in a sealed chamber is pressed against the shouldered seal portion to bring the sealed chamber into communication with the connecting passage such that the liquid discharged from the container body is allowed to flow into the sealed chamber through a hollow shaft member and is further led through a connecting passage into the applicator attachment hole to which the applicator member is attached.

  • Patent number: 5615315
Abstract: An output apparatus comprises: a cache memory to temporarily store the bit map pattern data which was developed to the bit map pattern on the basis of character information; an accumulating device to accumulate a plurality of bit map pattern data extracted from the cache memory; a rewriting unit to rewrite the bit map pattern data stored in the cache memory; a print controller to print on the basis of the data accumulated in the accumulating device; a detector to detect an operating state in the print controller; and a control unit to control the data rewriting process in the cache memory and the data clearing process in the accumulating device in accordance with the operating state detected by the detector. Since the rewriting and clearing processes to the cache memory are executed synchronously with the printing operation, even if a paper jam occurred, there is no need to develop to the cache memory.

  • Patent number: 5593297
Abstract: In a scroll type compressor, a simple structure provides oil intake assistance to ensure that lubricating oil in an oil space is induced into a spiral groove in correspondence to the rotation rate of a drive shaft. The drive shaft is provided with an inclined spiral groove which is formed in the external circumferential surface of the drive shaft. The drive shaft slides in contact with a main bearing. A leading end of the spiral groove, in the direction of the rotation of the drive shaft, communicates with the oil space and a trailing end of the spiral groove opens into the lubricating oil reservoir. The lubricating oil is supplied to the area where the drive shaft slides in contact with the main bearing by the spiral groove. Also, upon rotation of the drive shaft, intake of lubricating oil into the spiral groove is assisted when the suction force is reduced due to a high rotation rate.

  • Patent number: 5551852
Abstract: A scroll type compressor including a drive shaft which is provided with a spiral groove formed in an external circumferential surface of the drive shaft. The spiral groove communicates diagonally between the oil space and the upper portion of the main bearing to ensure sufficient lubrication and sealing in the area where the drive shaft slide in contact with the main bearing. A seal bearing portion is positioned between the oil space and the low pressure space to isolate the oil space from the low pressure orbiting space, achieving an improvement in lubrication. The seal bearing portion is constituted with a seal washer, a seal bearing and a seal member, and, furthermore, with seal reinforcing material, to especially improve the seal between the oil space and the oscillation space.

  • Patent number: 5503539
Abstract: A scroll compressor reduces the load applied to the thrust bearing, to prevent a thrust bearing from seizing and to improve the service life of the thrust bearing. It comprises an electric motor that is provided within a high pressure space inside a sealed case with a stator fixed within the sealed case and a rotor fixed to a drive shaft. An oscillating shaft is decentered on and extends from the drive shaft. An oscillating scroll member has an insertion hole into which the oscillating shaft is inserted. A fixed scroll member forms a compression space by fitting into the oscillating scroll member, and a block secures the fixed scroll member inside the sealed case and clamps the oscillating scroll member so that it can oscillate freely between the block and the fixed scroll member. The thrust bearing is provided between the drive shaft and the block to hold the lower end of the drive shaft so that it can rotate freely.

  • Patent number: 5485278
Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus are used for generating image data including characters or symbols in a color on the basis of a designated size. The brightness at which the image data is generated is changed in accordance with the designated size of a character or symbol. Thus, when printing a character or symbol on a printer, the difference in visual impression which is felt when the character or symbol has been printed in a different size, is reduced.
