  • Patent number: 5472328
Abstract: In order to provide a simple structure to achieve sufficient lubrication and sealing in the various areas of a scroll compressor where sliding contact occurs, a spiral groove that communicates between a high-pressure side space and an area at an upper portion of a main bearing is formed on the external circumferential surface of the drive shaft where it comes in contact with and slides against the main bearing. A seal bearing is provided in a drive shaft-receiving block between the high-pressure side space and a low pressure side space to seal off the high-pressure side space from the low pressure side space. An oil supply hole is provided that communicates between the high-pressure side space and an oscillation space which is formed by an oscillating scroll member and an oscillating shaft. With this, a first oil passage that lubricates the main bearing and a second oil passage that lubricates an oscillating shaft-insertion hole are formed.

  • Patent number: 5454660
Abstract: An applicator for applying a fluid such as eye shadow. The applicator comprises a tubular core having a conduit, and a porous outer membrane arranged to cover the tip of the tubular core. The outlet of the conduit, of the tubular core is formed so that the outlet opens in the tubular core on one side of the tubular core from the longitudinal axis of the tubular core. Therefore, it is possible to apply a fluid to a surface, such a skin of a human being, by using one side of the applicator through which the fluid easily soaks, and to spread and gradate the fluid on the surface, by using the other side of the applicator. The outer membrane may be made from two or three porous sheet members having different porosities from each other, so that a fluid easily soaks through one of the porous sheet members having a relatively large porosity.

  • Patent number: 5413469
Abstract: To reduce a load applied to the thrust bearing, to prevent the thrust bearing from seizing and to improve the service life of the thrust bearing, the thrust bearing is provided between a drive shaft and a block to seal a high-pressure side space from a low-pressure side space. By providing an oil supply through hole, one end of which opens into high-pressure side space and the other end of which opens into a space formed by inserting the shaft into the insertion hole, high-pressure lubricating oil can be supplied to the space. The constric within the shaft with the effect of the constriction clearance is formed between the aforementioned oscillating shaft and the insertion hole, and a pressure differential between the two ends of the drive shaft is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5220645
Abstract: An output apparatus comprises: a cache memory to temporarily store the bit map pattern data which was developed to the bit map pattern on the basis of character information; an accumulating device to accumulate a plurality of bit map pattern data extracted from the cache memory; a rewriting unit to rewrite the bit map pattern data stored in the cache memory; a print controller to print on the basis of the data accumulated in the accumulating device; a detector to detect an operating state in the print controller; and a control unit to control the data rewriting process in the cache memory and the data clearing process in the accumulating device in accordance with the operating state detected by the detector. Since the rewriting and clearing processes to the cache memory are executed synchronously with the printing operation, even if a paper jam occurred, there is no need to develop to the cache memory.

  • Patent number: 5199855
Abstract: A variable capacity compressor comprises a control element for determining the timing of start of compression of refrigerant gas. Control pressure which acts on the control element to displace same between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position is created in a high-pressure chamber by introducing discharge pressure thereinto. An electromagnetic valve opens and closes a passageway which commincates between the high-pressure chamber and a suction chamber by a pulse signal supplied from an ECU to control an amount of refrigerant gas leaking from the former into the latter to thereby control the level of the control pressure. The ECU makes the width of at least a first pulse or at least a first pulse base of the pulse signal wider than that of the following pulses or pulse bases, when the control element should start to be displaced between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position.

  • Patent number: 5129791
Abstract: A variable capacity vane compressor has a control element for determining timing of start of compression of a refrigerant gas. In a high-pressure chamber there prevails control pressure which acts on the control element for urging same toward a maximum capacity position thereof. The control pressure is created by introducing the refrigerant gas from a discharging space within which discharge pressure prevails into the high-pressure chamber via a high pressure-introducing passageway. The high pressure-introducing passageway has a restriction hole for restricting flow of the refrigerant gas. An electromagnetic value opens and closes the restriction hole in response to an external control signal. The refrigerant gas is allowed to constantly leak from the high-pressure chamber into a suction chamber via a leak passage, the leak passage having a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the restriction hole.

  • Patent number: 5017096
Abstract: A variable capacity compressor for use in a heat-exchange circuit. A pressure responsive valve is provided in a communication passageway extending between a low pressure chamber and a pressure controlled chamber. The pressure responsive valve is operative in response to pressure within the low pressure chamber for opening and closing the communication passageway to control pressure within the pressure controlled chamber, thereby varying the capacity of the compressor in such a manner as to reduce the capacity when the pressure within the low pressure chamber decreases to a level lower than a predetermined value. An electrically operated control device is operative in response to pressure or temperature of refrigerant gas in an evaporator of the heat-exchange circuit for maintaining the capacity large independently of operation of the pressure responsive valve, even if the pressure within the low pressure chamber decreases to a level lower than the predetermined value.
