  • Patent number: 9137031
Abstract: A method produces a data stream. The data stream is subdivided into at least one data segment. A key which is associated unambiguously with that data segment is created. A node is selected from a set of nodes in a network for that data segment on the basis of the key associated with that data segment, and the data segment is transmitted to the node selected for that data segment. Furthermore, a method calls at least one data segment in a data stream by a receiver node. A key which is associated unambiguously with that data segment is produced. A node is selected from a set of nodes in the network for the data segment on the basis of the key associated with that data segment. A request message is sent to the selected node to transmit the data segment associated with the key, and the data segment is received by the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20150237371
Abstract: Functional data structure for coding a set of digital images. Each of the images is compressed into at least-one first data stream portion, which comprises a portion of the macroblocks reduced by physical redundancies, and-one second data stream portion, which describes the redundancies. For the intraprediction macroblocks, the first data stream portion can be reduced by colour value statements with correlations to colour values from rows of pixels outside and at one edge of the intraprediction macroblock and for which, in the case of pixels outside the compressed image, a colour value default is assumed. The second data stream can comprise intrapredictors for describing the correlations, with coding of an area which is divided into first areas, each of which is occupied by the macroblocks of one of the digital images, and a second area which spaces apart the first areas and is occupied by default colour value pixels.

  • Patent number: 8873634
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods for modification of an encoded data stream of data packets, wherein each data packet comprises one information bit. In the data stream, the information bits of sequential data packets display time intervals from each other which differ from desired time intervals and which are adapted to the desired time intervals by insertion of an artificially encoded, first data packet into the encoded data stream in the encoded domain temporally after a second data packet, or by removal of a fourth data packet present in the encoded data stream from the encoded data stream in the encoded domain.

  • Patent number: 8788912
Abstract: A method for processing data packets of a data stream, in which the received data packets are processed in real-time by a first unit and only data packets that are received error-free are processed by a second unit, include a data sink initially receiving only the data packets processed by a first unit. Once a second unit and the first unit are processing identical data packets nearly simultaneously, data packets processed by the second unit can be routed to the data sink. Embodiments of the invention can be used advantageously in video coding, for example with a video-on-demand service or image analysis within the framework of a surveillance system.

  • Publication number: 20130301711
Abstract: Methods and devices transform image data, which are transformed by a compression filter before being compressed and stored in a reference image memory. In an extension, an inverse transformation to that of the compression filter is performed by a decompression filter when image data from the reference memory are read out and decompressed. The methods and devices can be used for image compression methods and image decompression methods that use reference image memories.

  • Publication number: 20130223511
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for mixing video streams in a video mixer device, by means of which a plurality of input video streams from different subscribers which are encoded with code words for macroblocks and in which the code words have interdependencies are combined into an output video stream. The input video streams are at least entropy-decoded to such a degree that the dependencies among the code words are dissolved, wherein the macroblocks are re-organized and mixed with each other, and the mixed macroblocks are entropy-encoded to obtain a new dedicated video stream.

  • Publication number: 20130114702
Abstract: An encoder encodes a video signal formed of video frames, each including image blocks. The encoder includes a processing unit which calculates at least one high resolution reference image block on the basis of previously encoded image blocks by executing a super resolution algorithm to perform a local motion compensation; and a motion compensation unit which calculates on the basis of the calculated high resolution reference image block a temporal predictor which is subtracted from a current image block of the video signal. Together, the encoder and a corresponding decoder improve the signal quality of a video signal significantly.

  • Patent number: 8320375
Abstract: A status message is sent by each node a group of nodes in a network to other nodes in the group using a multicast and/or broadcast channel of the network to identify the nodes in the group. The status message includes a piece of information about a data segment to be received by the nodes in the group via the multicast and/or broadcast channel. At least one of the nodes in the group requests the data segment via a point-to-point transmission channel from a source node. The data segment is sent to the other node(s) in the group via the multicast and/or broadcast channel.
