The plunger may comprise a linear gear that may operably couple with a circular gear in the controller. The controller may be configured to bias the circular gear in a biasing rotational direction, thereby positioning the plunger to move towards a biasing translational direction. The methods may comprise determining a backlash compensation amount, determining a fluid transfer movement amount, moving at least one component of the syringe pump the backlash compensation amount and the fluid transfer movement amount in a first direction, and moving the at least one component of the syringe pump a biasing movement amount in a second direction opposite the first direction to re-engage the first gear and the second gear to minimize backlash.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a multi-microphone system for an endpoint device receives input signals for a remote conference between the endpoint device and at least one other endpoint device. The multi-microphone system may include at least a top microphone unit and a bottom microphone unit. A signal degradation event that causes degradation of signals received by the top microphone unit or the bottom microphone unit is detected. Then, based on information regarding the signal degradation event, it is determined whether the signal degradation event affects one or both of the top microphone unit and the bottom microphone unit. In response, an output signal is generated for transmission to the at least one other endpoint device, and the output signal uses a portion of the input signals that excludes signals received by the top microphone unit and/or the bottom microphone unit determined to be affected by the signal degradation event.

    Abstract: Physical object boundary detection techniques and systems are described. In one example, an augmented reality module generates three dimensional point cloud data. This data describes depths at respective points within a physical environment that includes the physical object. A physical object boundary detection module is then employed to filter the point cloud data by removing points that correspond to a ground plane. The module then performs a nearest neighbor search to locate a subset of the points within the filtered point cloud data that correspond to the physical object. Based on this subset, the module projects the subset of points onto the ground plane to generate a two-dimensional boundary. The two-dimensional boundary is then extruded based on a height determined from a point having a maximum distance from the ground plane from the filtered cloud point data.

The test apparatus can be used in methods of determining a crush strength of an edge of a substrate. Methods can comprise aligning the probe with a test location of the substrate at a predetermined angle relative to a probe axis. Methods can further comprise applying a mechanical force to the test location with the probe in the direction of the probe axis. Also, methods can comprise increasing the mechanical force applied by the probe until the substrate cracks or a predefined force applied by the probe is reached. Based on the mechanical force applied by the probe, a crush strength of an edge can be determined.
