  • Publication number: 20060179342
Abstract: A node manager (300) resides on a node (104) in a cluster computing system (100) and transfers information and events being communicated across the node (104) to a broker (102) coupled to the node manager (300). The broker (102) transmits information to client devices (106) who subscribe to particular events. The client devices (106) publish their own messages back to the broker (102) or to a second broker (1002). Other client device (1102) can then subscribe to receive the messages from either broker (102 or 1002). The other client devices (1102) can then publish their own messages back to the brokers for subscription by further client devices (902).

  • Publication number: 20060162156
Abstract: Memory Cards containing Integrated Circuits and other electronic components (e.g. resistors) in a variety of form factors having high quality external surfaces of polycarbonate, synthetic paper (e.g. Teslin), or other suitable material (e.g. PVC) can be made through use of injection molded thermoplastic material or thermosetting material that becomes the core layer of said Memory Cards and similar devices. The object of the invention is to provide the following properties to Memory Cards: rapid production cycle, high volume manufacturing throughput, security, electronics protection, better tamper resistance, durability, and highly reliable complex electronics encapsulation, achieved through a process utilizing low temperature and low pressure.

  • Patent number: 7003120
Abstract: A method of manipulating a complex waveform by considering the harmonic and partial frequencies as moving targets over time in both amplitude and frequency and adjusting the moving targets by moving modifiers in both amplitude and frequency. The manipulation of harmonic frequencies and the synthesis of harmonic frequencies are based on the harmonic rank. The modifiers move with the movement of the frequencies based on rank. Harmonic transformation modifies, by rank, the waveform from one source to a waveform of a second or target source. Harmonics and other partials accentuation identifies each of the frequencies and its relationship to adjacent frequencies as well as fixed or moving thresholds and make the appropriate adjustment. Interpolation is also disclosed as well as models which imitate natural harmonics.

  • Patent number: 6947177
Abstract: The accentuation method determines the relative magnitude of each color component. It selects and adjusts the magnitude of one or more of the colors as a function of the determined relative magnitudes each color component. The type and amount of the adjustment is a function of the relative magnitude differences. One or more of the magnitudes is adjusted to change the relative magnitudes. Typically, the differences in the subtractive color space is between the lowest and middle magnitude color. Also, typically, the lowest primary color component is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050028080
Abstract: A method for constructing a plurality of objects, in accordance with the present invention includes the steps of providing a plurality of fragments, providing at least one fragment, determining an order for constructing objects based on at least one inclusion relationship between an object and the at least one fragment and constructing the plurality of objects based on the at least one inclusion relationship and the determined order for constructing the objects. A program storage device is also described. A system for constructing a plurality of objects, in accordance with the present invention, includes a content authoring system for generating fragments and providing include relationships between the fragments. A dependency parser is included for receiving the fragments and parsing the include relationships. A dependency analyzer is provided for determining an efficient order for constructing the plurality of objects from the fragments based on the include relationships.

  • Patent number: 6798886
Abstract: Methods for identifying the harmonic content of a single signal contained within a more complex signal and subsequently processing or separating signals contained within a complex mixture of signals into their constituent parts. Also, a single signal may be selectively separated or removed from the more complex audio signal. Furthermore, it may be desired to affect or modify the volume, clarity, timbre, color, feel, understandability (e.g. vowel and consonant sounds), the punch or clarity of the attack phase of a note or of a sequence (sometimes rhythmic) of individual notes or sounds in a complex combination of sounds of differing frequencies, volumes, and time sequence patterns. Multiple methods are described herein to allow the identification of signals within an audio signal that contains multiple or mixed signals, such as an audio signal containing a mixture of several musical instruments and/or voices.

Abstract: The accentuation method (20) determines the relative magnitude (FIG. 3, S 1-4) of each color component. It selects (24) and adjusts (26) the magnitude of one or more of the colors as a function of the determined relative magnitudes (FIG. 3, S 1-4) of each color component. The type and amount of the adjustment (26) is a function of the relative magnitude (FIG. 3, S 1-4) differences. One or more of the magnitudes (FIG. 3, S 1-4) is adjusted (26) to change the relative magnitudes (FIG. 3, S 1-4). Typically, the differences in the subtractive color space is between the lowest and middle magnitude color. Also, typically, the lowest primary color component is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6618751
Abstract: Systems and methods for publishing objects (e.g., pages and/or fragments) include assigning expiration times to different versions of objects and determining a plurality of objects which should be published atomically, that is, together in a single action. Then, the invention includes computing updated versions of the plurality of objects and atomically publishing the updated versions wherein the updated versions are not available until after expiration times corresponding to previously published versions of at least one of the plurality of objects (e.g., a cached object) have elapsed. Advantageously, clients attempting to access related cached objects over an information network such as the Internet will not be presented with versions of related objects that are inconsistent with one another.
