  • Publication number: 20100074744
Abstract: A turbine housing is provided. The turbine housing includes a tongue diverter to manage the interaction between exhaust gases entering the inlet of the housing and gasses flowing within the housing. The tongue member may also be arranged to produce a constant ratio throughout the turbine housing between the cross-sectional area of fluid passages and the distance between the centroid of that area and the axis of rotation of the turbine. The housing may comprise a pair of half shells that each form a portion of the tongue diverter.

  • Patent number: 7642936
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and inspecting the bits. The method also includes determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. A portion of the bits is converted to 1 bits such that they are designated for later suppression. • Publication number: 20090242591
Abstract: A system for dispensing liquid material with different configurations of air assisted fiberization or filament movement (e.g., meltblowing, controlled fiberization). In particular, front access for mounting a selected nozzle only requires adjustment of one lever and one fastener. Features of the lever and nozzle allow assisted ejection of the nozzle, even when the nozzle has become adhered to a die body through use. In addition, a nozzle mounting surface of the die body provides a universal interface to the various types of nozzles. An air cavity in the die body and air troughs in selected types of nozzles balance and adjust air flow.

  • Publication number: 20090188247
Abstract: The present invention provides dual-layer to flange weld joint for an exhaust manifold assembly. The manifold includes an inner assembly connected to a flange, and an outer shell spaced apart from the inner assembly to allow for an air gap between the shell and the inner assembly. The outer shell further includes a gap between the end portion of the outer shell and the flange. This gap allows a single exterior weld joint to connect the inner assembly and outer shell to the flange.

  • Publication number: 20090044066
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and recovering data lost from a packet by retransmitting selected subrate data for a lost sample over a specified time period. The method may further include transmitting one additional subrate for each sample. All data is generally retransmitted in a configured time interval and the additional subrate for each sample is transmitted every twenty milliseconds. In still other embodiments, the method includes skipping over any subrates that have already been transmitted within a recovery interval. In one implementation of the present invention, if any subrates had changed and had already been transmitted within the time period, there is no retransmit operation performed. If a lost packet is detected for a sample already in recovery, the time period is reset and a recovery process is initiated again.

  • Patent number: 7486676
Abstract: A signaling network node is configured for identifying a received signaling message as corresponding to one of a plurality of prescribed message classes, based on prescribed message class selection criteria. The signaling network node determines an outbound linkset for the received signaling message based on selected message parameters, for example destination point code, input linkset, service indicator values, etc., where the outbound linkset typically includes at least two links. The signaling network node selects one of the at least two links based on the identified message class.

  • Patent number: 7477651
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. The method further includes suppressing a selected one or more of the samples if the selected samples are similar to previously received samples and interleaving one or more voice data segments associated with a voice call into outgoing Internet protocol (IP) traffic flows. In more particular embodiments, packets that do not come in from a GSM port on the cell site element are designated as default best effort (BE) traffic.

  • Publication number: 20090007552
Abstract: An exhaust manifold and method of manufacturing the same is provided that includes at least one tube within shells of an exhaust manifold. The tube limits fluid communication from the tube into the shells of the exhaust manifold. An inlet flange is connectable to the exhaust manifold and is attachable to a cylinder head of a combustion engine. Exhaust gases expelled from the cylinder head are transmitted into the exhaust manifold. At least a portion of the exhaust gases pass through the tube. The exhaust manifold reduces NVH and cures emission control issues.

  • Publication number: 20080292712
Abstract: Formulations for controlled, prolonged release of bioactive molecules such as therapeutic proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides have been developed. These formulations are based on solid microparticles or nanoparticles formed of the combination of biodegradable, synthetic polymers such as poly (lactic acid) (PLA), poly (glycolic acid) (PGA), and copolymers thereof. Bioactive molecules are coupled to hydrophilic polymers such as polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol and formulated to provide controlled release. The bioactive molecules are more stable, less immunogenic and have improved release rate profiles with lower burst levels and increased drug loading relative to the same bioactive molecules lacking coupled hydrophilic polymers. The controlled release formulations can be administered by injection, by inhalation, nasally, or orally.

  • Patent number: 7452418
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filamentary film construct which is used in providing cementitious mixtures supplemental and reinforcing strength upon setting, and more particularly, to a unitized filamentary construct which comprises a plurality of oriented reinforcing filamentary film components combined with a circumferential retaining element, said circumferential retaining element providing temporary retention of the oriented reinforcing filamentary components until such point the unitized filamentary substrate is incorporated and subjected to mechanical agitation during preparation of a cementitious blend or mixture. The unitized filamentary film construct is endowed with inherent and improved dispensability and dispersability of the associated reinforcing filamentary component into organic or inorganic cementitious matrixes, such as concrete, mortar, plaster, etc. The oriented reinforcing filamentary film components can comprise fibrillated film components.

  • Publication number: 20080276899
Abstract: The invention provides an exhaust system including a cylinder head having a plurality of exhaust ports. Integrally formed with the cylinder head are a plurality of independent and separate tubes. The tubes are cast, molded or otherwise integrally formed with the exhaust ports of the cylinder head. The cylinder head and tubes eliminate the need for an exhaust flange, welding the tubes to the exhaust flange and securing the exhaust flange to the cylinder head. As a result, the present invention has less weight and improved performance over prior art cylinder head and exhaust assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7413595
Abstract: An improved control scheme is set forth for an adsorption process that removes water and carbon dioxide (CO2) from a feed gas using a hybrid of both temperature swing (i.e. TSA) and pressure swing (PSA) to regenerate the adsorbent. The control scheme comprises adjusting the quantity of heat to be provided by the regeneration gas as a function of temperature data taken within a strategic portion of the water selective adsorbent zone. The strategic portion corresponds to the location for the desired transition from regeneration by temperature swing, to regeneration by pressure swing. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said quantity of regeneration heat is also adjusted as a function of the water content of the feed gas.

Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. The method also includes suppressing a selected one or more of the samples if the selected samples are similar to previously received samples. The cell site element is further operable to invert one or more selected header bits. In a more particular embodiment, the bits to be inverted are part of a fixed length field and the inverted bits are odd. The inversion of the bits reduces packet overhead that is present in an HDLC communications environment.
