  • Patent number: 9932914
Abstract: A hybrid electric vehicle includes an internal combustion engine configured to provide power to traction wheels, and a controller. The controller is configured to, in response to the engine being off and a power request exceeding an engine-start threshold, delay an engine start when vehicle speed is below a predetermined value. Delaying an engine start may include providing an engine-start-threshold offset. The offset decreases as vehicle speed increases. The engine is started when the power request exceeds a sum of the engine-start threshold and the engine-start-threshold offset.

  • Patent number: 9928741
Abstract: A traffic adjustment or a traffic command, for example, is based on data congestion on a cellular network. Position data is received from a mobile device. A portion of a cellular network that corresponds to the position data is selected. The portion of the cellular network may be the geographic area covered by a cell. The network state of the portion of the cellular network is identified. A traffic device is also identified. The traffic device may be a traffic light or a variable speed sign. The traffic adjustment or traffic command for the traffic device is calculated based on the network state.

  • Publication number: 20180027190
Abstract: A system and method for thermal inspection of a component having at least one cooling hole is disclosed, that uses an evaporative membrane for direct evaporative cooling of an exhausted working fluid. A working fluid is supplied to at least one internal passage of a component that is configured to exhaust the working fluid from the internal passage sequentially through the cooling holes and the wetted evaporative membrane disposed in direct air-tight contact with the component. An imager captures a time series of images corresponding to a transient evaporative response of the exhausted working fluid to determine a plurality of temperature values for the exhausted working fluid after passage through the evaporative membrane. A processor circuit is configured to evaluate the transient evaporative response of the exhausted working fluid.

  • Publication number: 20180010489
Abstract: Harley Davidson motorcycles motors have a gap between the rocker arm shaft and the cam plate bolt, this bolt is supposed to lock the rocker arm shaft but because of the gap the shaft rotates with the rocker arm, hitting the bolt causing an annoying tick. The Rocker arm bushing inserts go between the rocker arm support plate bolt and the rocker arm shaft locking the shaft and preventing it from rotating and hitting the bolt that cause an annoying tick. The bushings are called Rocker arm bushing inserts. Each cylinder head requires two inserts, or four per motor. Inserts can be made from any material and length can vary. Inserts must fit inside a 11/32 hole and around a 5/16 bolt shank.
