  • Patent number: 8552704
Abstract: A current share system for providing current to a load includes a first power supply module that controls a first voltage converter to provide a first current to the load, that transmits synchronization information using a first pin, and that transmits at least one second type of information using the first pin. A second power supply module receives the synchronization information at a second pin, receives the at least one second type of information at the second pin, and controls a second voltage converter to provide a second current to the load based on the synchronization information and the at least one second type of information.

  • Publication number: 20130220675
Abstract: Printed circuit boards have circuit layers with one or more copper filled through-holes and methods of manufacturing the same. An aspect of an embodiment of the present invention enhances thermal characteristics of filled through-holes of printed circuit boards to provide extra reliability to the printed circuit boards. In one embodiment, a printed circuit broad has a plurality of through-holes to connect copper patterns on different layers of the printed circuits broad. Here, at least one of the through-holes is copper plated closed at both ends with at least 70% volume of the through-hole plated with copper to, e.g., enhance thermal characteristics of the through-hole, thereby providing extra reliability to the printed circuit board. In one embodiment, the printed circuit board includes a surface conductor (or cap) that is directly plated over the copper filled barrel plated through-hole.

  • Publication number: 20130118042
Abstract: An apparatus, computer-implemented method for customizing an apparatus, and system for customizing an apparatus are disclosed. A user interface may allow a user to define content for customizing a selected apparatus. Based on the selected apparatus and the user-defined content, a label may be created that can be applied to the apparatus by a user. • Patent number: 8436810
Abstract: A wearable electronic device such as a wrist watch (60) is supplied with conventional clock with two pointers (32,33). The device displays a parameter indicative of how “cool” the wearer has been over the past period as a function of time, using the time axis of one of the pointers (32,33). “Coolness” can be based on the measurement of related physiological parameters like heart-rate, body temperature, movement, skin resistance or muscle activity. “Coolness” of a person is understood as being the ability to cope with stress. Therefore, the stability of physiological parameters can be used to derive a signal for the subjective trait called “coolness”. All physiological parameters can be measured by sensors (10) in the watch (60) or in the strap (50). The invention is used as a gadget for self expression and emotional feedback.

  • Publication number: 20130049723
Abstract: A system includes an input selection module, a multiplier selection module, a multiplier module, an adding module, a plurality of accumulators, and an estimation module. The input selection module selects input signals including a duty cycle signal and current and voltage signals of a power supply. The multiplier selection module selects inputs from sine and cosine generator. The multiplier module multiplies the selected input signals by the inputs from the sine and cosine generator to generate products. The adding module adds the products to generate sums. The plurality of accumulators accumulates the sums. The estimation module estimates values of a plurality of components including an inductance, a capacitance, and a resistance of the power supply based on the sums accumulated in the plurality of accumulators.

  • Patent number: 8201777
Abstract: An external door for use in accessing a cargo area of an aircraft fuselage. The door includes a locking system, a latching system, a lock monitoring system, an uplock used to secure the door in an open position, and an actuating system that assists in at least one of opening and closing the door. The locking system works by interfering with the movement of the latching system components. The locking system includes a monitoring device that prevents the aircraft from being pressurized in case of a malfunction in the locking system. The latching system includes a handle locking system that prevents operation of the latch handle by accident or by ground loading or flight forces. The systems of the door are preferably manually operated, and utilize rigid members.

  • Patent number: 8159205
Abstract: A system includes an averaging module, a high pass filter module, a first estimation module, a sensing module, and a combining module. The averaging module receives an output voltage of a power supply and that generates an average output voltage. The high pass filter module receives an average switching voltage used to control switches in an output stage of the power supply and filters a difference between the average output voltage and the average switching voltage. The estimation module estimates a first filtered current through an inductor in the output stage based on an output of the high pass filter module. The sensing module senses voltage across the inductor and estimates a second current through the inductor. The low pass filter module filters the second current. The combining module combines the first filtered current and the second filtered current to generate an estimated current through the inductor.

  • Publication number: 20110300327
Abstract: A method for preparing carpet by using polyurethane to anneal secondary backing to a greige, comprising fibers attached to a primary backing. The polyurethane monomers are mixed just prior to application to the greige primary backing allowing the relatively low viscosity polyurethane to penetrate the fibers of the primary backing to aid in fiber lock. The polyurethane is puddle between two rollers that coat a layer of polyurethane onto the greige. The polyurethane coated greige is then contacted with the secondary backing before complete polymerization to insure sufficient tack to hold the backings together resulting in a durable carpet requiring a relatively low weight of polyurethane monomers.

  • Publication number: 20110203124
Abstract: A shaving cartridge-cover assembly having a housing with a guard, a cap, a rear wall with at least one retention member, a front wall, and a pair of side walls. At least one blade is mounted to the housing between the guard and the cap. A protective cover has a top wall, a front wall and a rear wall that define a pair of opposing open ends. The housing has a dimension between the retention member and the front wall that is greater than an inner width of the open ends of the protective cover such that sliding one of the side walls of the housing into at least one of the open ends deflects the front and rear walls of the protective cover to facilitate mounting of the protective cover over the housing.

  • Patent number: 7985172
Abstract: After-loader devices, kits, and methods for using the same are provided. Such after-loader devices are useful for loading implants into hollow needles, especially after the needles are inserted into patient tissue. The after-loader devices can be pre-loaded with implants, before the after-loaders are connected to hubs of hollow needles, or loaded thereafter.

  • Publication number: 20110088269
Abstract: A wet shaving razor is provided having a handle, an interconnect member and a cartridge having at least one blade for shaving. The handle has a distal gripping portion and a proximal end portion defining an open area there through. The proximal end portion of the handle has an undercut section. The interconnect member is mounted to the cartridge and includes a latch with a free end that is releasably engaged to the undercut section of the handle. The button has a distal end portion supported by the proximal end portion of the handle and a proximal end portion supported by the free end of the latch such that actuating the button deflects the free end of the latch and disengages the free end from the undercut section of the handle.
