  • Patent number: 6218687
Abstract: A microsensor for identifying a change in a characteristic of an environment having temperatures of up to approximately five hundred degrees Centigrade includes a substantially flat insulator layer made of silicon oxide. A base layer made of silicon is integrally attached to one side of the insulator layer and a support layer is integrally attached to the other side of the insulator layer. Together the base layer and the support layer stabilize the support layer which is only about one thousand angstroms thick. A sensor element is mounted on the exposed surface of the support layer, and opposite the insulator layer, to generate a signal in response to the change in the environmental characteristic. Additionally, there is an electronic element which is processed into the support layer. This electronic element is electrically connected directly with the sensor element to process the signal and indicate an appropriate response.

  • Patent number: 5975606
Abstract: A passenger assist handle for use in an automobile includes a handle pivotably mounted to a base and biased in an non-use position by a helical torsion spring. The base has an upstanding mounting block for pivotably retaining the handle and a mounting clip for mounting the base to an automobile frame. The handle has first and second ends each of which is pivotably mounted to the base through a pin which extends through openings in each end of the handle and through the base pivot mounts for movement between first and second positions with respect to the base. The spring has a first end extending into and anchored in the spring hole in the base. The spring is further coiled around the pin between the pivot mounts and has a second end distal from the first end which is anchored in the first end of the handle. The handle further includes a ledge for retaining the second end of the spring in the handle.

  • Patent number: 4479276
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a process for continuous wet treatment of textile material in a container holding treatment liquid through which the material is being transported and is being penetrated by treatment liquid in a manner which is essentially vertical to its surface, and to devices for carrying out the process. In a particularly appropriate device, textile material 16 is introduced from the top into treatment liquid 28, then is guided around a minimum of one part (52, 80, 81, 120) which is arranged in the lower region of inner container (30, 85, 87, 119) liquid permeable to a limited degree, along a wall, and is thereby deflected and transported in the direction of the upper edge of inner container (30, 85, 87, 119).
