    Abstract: Apparatus including an optical signal generator, a data transmission path, and an optical signal receiver. Optical signal generator includes a coherent light source for generating a spectrum of carrier signals at different carrier frequencies, an optical demultiplexer that receives and separates the different carrier signals into separate optical paths, a pair of optical modulators located in each of the separate optical paths to modulate each different carrier signal with a data signal and produce an upper and lower sideband pair at each of the different carrier frequencies, and an optical interleaver to combine the upper and lower sideband pairs into an optical super-channel of interleaved sub-bands. Optical signal receiver includes a demodulator for extracting the data signals. Optical modulators are configured to reuse each carrier signal to transmit different data in each of the upper sideband and the lower sideband and increase the capacity of the super-channel.     Abstract: A method of generating a digital video image uses a wide-angle field of view (WFOV) lens positioned closely in front of an image sensor array so that the image field of the lens is so curved at the sensor array that different regions of the image field are substantially in focus on the sensor array for different positions of the lens. The method comprises selecting a desired region of interest in the image field of the lens, and adjusting the lens/array distance to bring the region of interest into focus on the sensor array. The in-focus region of interest is stored and at least partially corrected for field-of-view distortion due to the WFOV lens. The corrected image is displayed, locally and/or remotely. These steps are cyclically repeated to provide the video image.

When a user requests a high level of privacy, the timestream data collected for the user is aggregated with timestream data collected for other users into a statistical dataset by processing the timestreams to ensure the high level of privacy in the statistical dataset which is provided to a content provider without providing data collected for the user who has requested the high level of privacy.

Frames of image data are provided with a series of cameras extending along a surface of the vehicle. The image data frames are processed to identify an object of interest. An object of interest is classified among a set of object types and location of an identified object of interest is determined. Object type and location information is provided to a control unit spaced apart from the cameras via a data link. Road map data is generated to illustrate changes in position of the moving vehicle along a roadway based on data other than the image data provided by the cameras. A display of the road map data is generated with the object type and location information overlaid on the road map data to indicate object location relative to the vehicle.
