Patent number: 7056363Abstract: A centrifugal separator for cleaning of a gas from solid and/or liquid particles suspended therein, includes a stationary housing and a rotor arranged therein. The rotor at its one axial end has a central inlet for gas to be cleaned and delimits a central space communicating with the inlet. Patent number: 7052529Abstract: In a vehicle adapted to be propelled by means of an internal combustion engine crankcase gases coming from the combustion engine are cleaned by means of a centrifugal separator. The rotor of the centrifugal separator is driven by means of pressurized air delivered by a compressor, e.g. a so called turbo compressor, which is driven by means of the combustion engine. During periods when the compressor delivers pressurized air in an insufficient amount and/or at insufficient pressure the rotor of the centrifugal separator is instead driven by means of pressurized air coming from a container containing so called auxiliary pressurized air. The auxiliary pressurized air may have a substantially larger pressure than the pressurized air normally delivered by the compressor. The combustion engine is used also for accomplishing the overpressure of the auxiliary pressurized air in the container.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2001Date of Patent: May 30, 2006Assignee: Alfa Laval Corporate ABInventors: Peter Franzén, Ingvar Hällgren, Leif Larsson

Publication number: 20060100083Abstract: Centrifuge for purifying flowing fluid media, has a plurality of stacked concentric disc elements, each provided with a central fluid inlet hole. The disc elements have through openings and the disc elements are slipped thereonto at least three substantially axially extending, circumferentially spaced guide elements for guiding the disc elements circumferentially and radially. The disc elements are held together by end elements at the ends of the stack of discs. The guide elements are completely separate, combined guidance and tensile rods, which are disposed so as not to encroach on the central flow space in the disc stack. The through openings in the disc elements are made as notches, radially directed from the central fluid inlet hole in the disc elements, and the tensile rods are disposed to be inclined somewhat towards the rotational centre from the lower end element when mounting the disc elements.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2003Publication date: May 11, 2006Inventors: Torgny Lagerstedt, Caes Inge, Peter Franzen, Olve Maehans, Martin Sandgren

Patent number: 7022150Abstract: In a centrifugal separator, the rotor of which is adapted to be driven by means of a gaseous driving fluid, the rotor itself supports a ring of turbine blades extending around the rotational axis of the rotor. A stationary nozzle is adapted to direct a flow of the driving fluid towards the ring of turbine members. After the driving fluid has passed between the turbine blades and has influenced them for driving of the centrifugal rotor, it enters a reversing chamber formed by a stationary reversing member. In the reversing chamber the driving fluid is caused to change its direction and is then conducted again towards the ring of turbine members in order to be utilized a second time for driving of the centrifugal rotor.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2001Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: Alfa Laval Corporate ABInventors: Leonard Borgström, Claes-Göran Carlsson, Peter Franzén, Claes Inge, Torgny Lagerstedt, Hans Moberg, Stefan Szepessy

Publication number: 20050211653Abstract: The invention relates to a method of erecting or lowering a boom (4) of a mobile crane (1), comprising a crane carrier and, slewably arranged on said crane carrier (2), a superstructure (3), on which a boom (4) is luffably attached. With the erecting method according to the present invention the boom (4) is mounted on the superstructure (3) of the crane boom (1) in an essentially horizontal position. Then the boom (4) or the superstructure (3) is connected to a fixed foundation (21) which is anchored in the ground, and after this the boom (4) is erected to the desired luffed position while using the foundation (21) as a counterweight. For lowering the boom (4), the above steps basically have to be carried out in reversed order. The invention also relates to the use of a foundation (21) of a building under construction, such as a wind power station (20), and a mobile crane, in particular a lattice boom crane (1), suitable for carrying out the methods.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2005Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventor: Hans-Peter Franzen

Patent number: 6821319Abstract: In connection with cleaning of gas from particles suspended therein and being heavier than the gas the gas is caused to rotate in a chamber delimited in a stationary housing, so that the particles by centrifugal force are separated from the gas and are thrown towards a stationary housing. The rotation of the gas is accomplished by means of a rotor, which includes a stack of conical separation discs arranged coaxially with each other and concentrically with the rotational axis of the rotor. The gas to be cleaned is caused to flow through interspaces between the separation discs, while they are rotating, the particles by the centrifugal force being brought into contact with the insides of the separation discs. In contact with the insides of the separation discs the particles first move along the generatrices of the separation discs and then move along inclined guiding members, which are arranged in contact with said insides.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2002Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Alfa Laval ABInventors: Hans Moberg, Torgny Lagerstedt, Claes Inge, Claes-Göran Carlsson, Stefan Szepessy, Peter Franzén, Leonard Borgström
