  • Patent number: 11963721
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for quantifying a biomarker of a biological tissue. Two spectral sub-intervals are determined from a plurality of images of the tissue acquired at discrete wavelengths within a main wavelength interval using an imaging sensor in a manner such that the combination of the image data in the at least two spectral sub-intervals are correlated with a clinical variable of interest. The tissue is illuminated using one or more light sources with wavelengths within the at least two spectral sub-intervals. A measurement is of the light reflected by the tissue is acquired using an imaging sensor; and a measure of the biomarker of the tissue is calculated using the acquired measurement. The main wavelength interval is broader than each of the at least two spectral sub-intervals and at least one spectral confounder causing a spectral variability of the acquired image is present in the tissue.

  • Patent number: 10027435
Abstract: In an automatically switched optical network operating according to a wavelength plan, the wavelengths are assigned to an optical path based on availability, performance and SRS wavelength coupling reduction. First, the wavelengths are grouped in static bins based on their reach versus cost performance, and each bin assumes a ?Q of a middle wavelength. Then, the bins are moved into subsets of dynamic bins, constructed using bin constraints that account for the particulars of the respective optical path. The path is characterized taking into account the wavelength currently accessing at the end nodes, and the wavelength tandeming through the end nodes. Wavelength selection starts with the bins that satisfy the maximum number of constraints, and the wavelengths are checked sequentially against wavelength constraints; relaxed constraints are also applied when it is not possible to exactly satisfy one or more constraints.

  • Patent number: 7599621
Abstract: An agile transparent network with a trail routing and switching (also called “engineering”) mechanism is provided that enables efficient use of regenerators and wavelengths available in the network, while maintaining a very efficient time-to-service. The trail engineering mechanism allows fast, automatic establishment of new connections based on the current network architecture, connectivity and loading and also on conditions in the connection request. Selection of regenerator sites and of the wavelengths used on each regenerator segment is performed with optimal use of current network resources, while ensuring that the quality of the selected trail is adequate for the respective call. The mechanism provides for both distance and performance balancing, and it optimizes the network response time.

  • Patent number: 7213095
Abstract: A data processing system is provided with a bus having separate write channels W and read channels R via which bus transactions are made. Bus transaction buffers 34 are provided within the bus structure to buffer write requests, particularly so as to alleviate problems associated with relatively slow bus slaves. The bus transaction buffers 34 are responsive to the memory addresses associated with write requests and read requests which pass through them to identify those to the same memory address, or memory addresses within a predetermined range, so as to either ensure a strict correct ordering of those transactions, read to follow write, or to satisfy a read following a write with a buffered write data value and then flushing the read request such that it does not reach its final destination.
