  • Patent number: 7225899
Abstract: A stair lift for lifting and lowering at least one person on a rail on a stairway. There is a carriage mountable to the rail, the carriage having a track engaging drive, and a motor to power the drive, the powered drive causing the carriage to move along the rail. There is a central support post mounted on the carriage and an offset arm connected to the seat support post. The offset arm is mounted to the carriage in one of a left side or a right side position. A seat is mounted on the offset arm, and a notched plate secures the seat in position on the offset arm in either the left side or right side position and permits the seat to swivel between a sideways facing position and an upward facing position to facilitate the person getting into and out of the seat.

  • Publication number: 20070122419
Abstract: During the progression of atherosclerosis, autoantibodies are induced to epitopes of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OxLDL), and active immunization of hypercholesterolemic mice with OxLDL ameliorates athero-genesis. The present studies have identified anti-OXLDL autoantibodies that share complete genetic and structural identity with antibodies produced by anti-phosphorylcholine B-cell clone, T15.

  • Patent number: 7117464
Abstract: A method is provided for evaluating trace signal coupling in an electronic design (e.g., a package design). In the method, one or more trace signal coupling rules are formulated. One or more trace pairs designed to carry differential signals are then processed to determine whether the inter-trace spacing between the trace pairs violates the trace signal coupling rules. An indicator (e.g., a DRC and/or a report) is generated to identify violated trace signal coupling rules. Processing of the electronic design may be scoped according one or a group of signal nets, or one or a group of levels of the package design.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining spatial locations of defects in a material are described. The method includes providing a plurality of electrodes in contact with a material, applying a sinusoidal voltage to a select number of the electrodes at a predetermined frequency, determining gain and phase angle measurements at other of the electrodes in response to applying the sinusoidal voltage to the select number of electrodes, determining impedance values from the gain and phase angle measurements, computing an impedance spectrum for an area of the material from the determined impedance values, and comparing the computed impedance spectrum with a known impedance spectrum to identify spatial locations of defects in the material.

  • Publication number: 20060049239
Abstract: A carton of a traditional glue end type contains an additional flap which is revealed when the end of the carton is opened and which allows the consumer to lift and lock it into place as a resealing feature for the open carton end. The additional flap is folded through 180° and is be held down behind an end flap of the carton with a small glue spot. A zone of weakness is defined in the carton to allow easy opening of the end of the carton at the correct place for proper functioning of the additional flap. Advantageously, a consumer may easily open the carton end since the consumer can easily puncture the zone of weakness. However, the extra flap may be used by the consumer to reseal the carton end multiple times.

  • Publication number: 20060046249
Abstract: The present invention describes polynucleotides and polypeptides that have been discovered to correlate to the relative intrinsic sensitivity or resistance of cells, e.g., colon cell lines, to treatment with compounds that interact with and inhibit src tyrosine kinases. These polynucleotides and polypeptides have been shown, through a weighted voting cross validation program, to have utility in predicting the intrinsic resistance and sensitivity of colon cell lines to these compounds. Such polynucleotides and polypeptides whose expression levels correlate highly with drug sensitivity or resistance comprise predictor or marker sets of polynucleotides and polypeptides that are useful in methods of predicting drug response, and as prognostic or diagnostic indicators in disease management, particularly in those disease areas in which signaling through src tyrosine kinase of the src tyrosine kinase pathway is involved with the disease process.

  • Publication number: 20060029944
Abstract: The present invention describes polynucleotides that have been discovered to correlate to the relative intrinsic sensitivity or resistance of cells, e.g., breast cell lines, to treatment with compounds that interact with and modulate, e.g., inhibit, protein tyrosine kinases, such as, for example, members of the Src family of tyrosine kinases, e.g., Src, Fgr, Fyn, Yes, Blk, Hck, Lck and Lyn, as well as other protein tyrosine kinases, including, Bcr-abl, Jak, PDGFR, c-kit and Eph receptors. These polynucleotides have been shown, through a weighted voting cross validation program, to have utility in predicting the resistance and sensitivity of breast cell lines to the compounds. The expression level or phosphorylation status of some polynucleotides is regulated by treatment with a particular protein tyrosine kinase inhibitor compound, thus indicating that these polynucleotides are involved in the protein tyrosine kinase signal transduction pathway, e.g., Src tyrosine kinase.

  • Publication number: 20060010867
Abstract: An individual cogeneration plant includes a collector for collecting solar energy and transmitting heat generated from the solar energy, and a boiler in communication with the collector for generating steam from water using the heat transmitted from the collector. A generator communicates with the boiler for generating electricity from the steam generated by the boiler, and unused electricity generated by the system can be stored as hydrogen gas for future use, or transferred to an external main power grid. A control unit can be programmed to make determinations regarding an optimum setting for operation based on current conditions. Multiple cogeneration plants can be interconnected with each other and the main power grid. The individual cogeneration plants can provide power to each other and the main power grid based on current user demands.

  • Patent number: 6922822
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for verifying the proximity of ground vias to signal vias in an integrated circuit package design. A package designer creates the package design using a package design tool. A proximity verifier verifies that there is a ground via within a predetermined threshold distance of each specified signal via in the package design. The proximity verifier may notify the package designer of any signal vias which are not sufficiently close to ground vias, such as by providing visual indications of such signal vias in a graphical representation of the package design displayed on a display monitor. In response, the package designer may modify the package model to ensure that all signal vias are sufficiently close to ground vias. The proximity verifier may be implemented as a design rule which may be executed automatically and in real-time by the package design tool.
