  • Patent number: 9650763
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems for performing non-contact based determination of the position of an implement. In one embodiment, a non-contact based measurement system is used to determine the relative position of an implement coupled with a mobile machine. The geographic position of the mobile machine is determined and the geographic position of said implement based upon the geographic position of the mobile machine and the position of the implement relative to the mobile machine.

  • Publication number: 20170128848
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a method for altering one or more properties of a primary material. The method includes reducing the elasticity of a primary material and creating a delivery aperture through an outer layer of the primary material. Once the delivery aperture is created, or as the delivery aperture is created, introducing through the delivery aperture a secondary material into a sublayer of the primary material and applying a closure treatment to the primary material to close the delivery aperture. The secondary material includes one or more properties that are different from the primary material. By introducing the secondary material into the primary material, the secondary material locally changes the properties of the primary material. Examples of the variable properties include color, strength, flexibility, magnetism, and optical.

  • Publication number: 20160328033
Abstract: An input device (10) comprises a panning mechanism (12). The panning mechanism comprises a sensor arrangement having first and second sensor components (46, 48), a movable carrier arrangement (40) for carrying the first sensor component and a fixed carrier arrangement (42) on which the second sensor component is mounted. The movable carrier arrangement is movable relative to the fixed carrier arrangement. The panning mechanism further includes constraining means (50) to constrain movement of the movable carrier arrangement relative to the fixed carrier arrangement in two directions. The movement of the movable carrier arrangement relative to the fixed carrier arrangement effects movement of the first sensor component relative to the second sensor component to create input signals such as input signals for a data processing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20150245976
Abstract: A pressure cuff or garment for prophylactic treatment of deep vein thrombosis includes a series of three chambers arranged in series and coupled fluidically to one another by bleed tubes or chokes. The chambers are otherwise sealed to the environment, save for the first chamber which also provides an inlet/outlet for coupling to a fluid pump. The chambers are also of curved shape so as to overlap one another. The cuff or garment provides more effective pulsating pressure treatment than prior art structures.
