  • Patent number: 10200544
Abstract: Shared usage plans are popular with families, friends, and small businesses. These shared usage plans share some cumulative utilization of resources, such as communications services. Even though multiple devices may share a monthly allotment of resources, an individual threshold is established for each device. The multiple individual thresholds may then be dynamically regulated to maintain the monthly allotment of resources.

  • Patent number: 8374576
Abstract: The cumulative utilization of communication system resources by a communication terminal is determined. An alert is generated through the communication terminal in response to the cumulative utilization exceeding a threshold amount. The cumulative utilization of resources may be determine by a core network of the communication system and/or by the communication terminal. The core network may transmit an alert message to the communication terminal to trigger an alert therefrom in response to the cumulative utilization of resources exceeding a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 7844042
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for forwarding communications to a first destination number to a second destination number after receipt of a forwarding indication from the second destination number. In the first embodiment, the method comprises the steps of the communication device coupled to the second destination number receiving a forwarding indication, determining the first destination number to be forwarded based on the forwarding indication, and forwarding communications directed to the first destination number to the second destination number. In the second embodiment, the method comprises the steps of the client device coupled to the second destination number receiving a forwarding indication, determining the first destination number to be forwarded based on the forwarding indication, and forwarding communications directed to the first destination number to the second destination number.

  • Publication number: 20100179701
Abstract: A disclosed method of weather forecasting with respect to a set of irrigation criteria includes enabling an irrigation system controller operating on a user defined schedule to wirelessly receive soil condition information from an environmental sensor, evaluate the soil condition information for satisfaction of an irrigation criterion, and activate an irrigation valve associated with the environmental sensor when the irrigation criterion is satisfied. The soil condition information may indicate a chemical composition or moisture content of the soil. The irrigation system controller is further enabled to generate a warning message based on the soil condition. The irrigation system controller is further enabled to send the warning message to a lawn care service. The irrigation system controller is further enabled to generate a report of the soil condition. The irrigation system controller is further enabled to generate a report indicative of water consumption per irrigation valve.

  • Patent number: 7356038
Abstract: Systems and method for a communications broker include a memory with a look-up table, one or more connections to associated communications networks and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a phone number and a request for information related to the phone number and utilizes the look-up table to determine a communications network associated with the phone number. The processor is further configured to transmit the request to the communications network for the information related to the phone number, receive a first response to the request and transmit a second response. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7269431
Abstract: Improved techniques for communicating short messages forward an electronic message to an alternate communications device if the system is unable to deliver the short message to a destination communications device. The electronic message is formatted to be compliant with the alternate communications system. Alternatively, the short message may be formatted in compliance with a destination communications device that is not short message compliant and sent to the destination communications device. In some embodiments of the present invention, a method for communicating short messages includes forwarding an electronic message to a first communications device, the forwarding in response to at least an indicator of unsuccessful delivery of a short message to a destination communications device. The first communications device may be incompatible with short message service. The forwarding may be enabled from the destination communications device, the first communications device, or a web browser.

  • Patent number: 7260188
Abstract: A voice mail system that provides a message scan mode that plays back only brief portions of each message, i.e., message snippets, saved in the voice mailbox queue. If the user takes no action while the message snippet is being played back, or within a short grace period after that, the system automatically skips to the next message in the queue and plays a snippet of that message without requiring any interaction on the part of the user. The user has the option of making a selection that causes the entire message to be played.

  • Patent number: 7197123
Abstract: Call identification information regarding calls placed to or from a wireless device that subscribes to a Call Log service is recorded and stored in network-based incoming and outgoing call information logs, preferably at a Service Node. The network is prompted to capture call identification information by triggers provisioned on the subscribing line, wherein the triggers identify the subscribing directory number as a subscriber to the Call Log service. The call information logs can be retrieved by any requesting communication device that sends a presentation request and can be authenticated at the network via provision of an authentication code, or via referencing number in a network-based database permissions associated with the requesting communication device's directory.
