  • Patent number: 10303496
Abstract: The invention discloses a system for accessing and viewing Internet content on a portable device by means of a proxy server. The server requests web content, renders it and sends compressed image parts to the device. In order for the device to be cost-competitive, its processing operations are generally limited to decompressing image parts and displaying them. The server sends information to the device that allows it to locally create, display and manage text boxes, in which the user can type immediately. As a user types into a local text box, text input data is communicated to the server and processed therein before further requests for web content. By simultaneously managing multiple text boxes locally, the present invention reduces instances of data transfer from the server to the device, which decreases the likelihood of lag and improves the performance of the device.

  • Publication number: 20190154607
Abstract: A system for sensing wetness in an ordinary diaper comprises a disposable sensor unit that can be adhered to an absorbent layer of a diaper, and comprises a sensor strip and a support structure. The sensor strip has electrical circuit with conductive elements as wetness sensors printed on the bottom surface of the strip, wherein a closed electrical circuit is formed when an amount of body fluid is present that subsequently triggers an alerting device. The support structure has multiple slots cut out on it to expose conductive elements to body fluids and also keeps the conductive elements at a specific height from the absorbent layer of the diaper such that no alert is generated because of the body fluid content retained by a top permeable layer of the diaper after absorbing the body fluid. The thickness of the support structure is maintained such that the height created between the conductive elements and the top permeable layer of the diaper, does not cause capillary action.

  • Publication number: 20190157483
Abstract: The present invention discloses a solar module, preferably for use within a solar energy concentrator system. The solar module comprises multiple solar cells that are divided into sets. The solar cells constituting a set form a parallel circuit, while the sets are connected together in series. The sets are arranged such that they each generate substantially the same amount of current despite solar cells potentially receiving an uneven diffusion of solar radiation. The voltage of each set can thus be added together without yielding any significant efficiency loss. In a further embodiment, electrical contacts and conductors with relatively high resistance on the solar cells are located on their back sides, coupled to conductors with relatively low resistance on a PC board substrate incorporated as a substrate to the solar module. This circuit reduces the overall resistance of the circuit, especially when integrated to a solar energy concentrator system.

  • Publication number: 20190013776
Abstract: The present invention discloses a solar concentrator for supplying energy. Sunlight is redirected by a concentrating reflector toward a target area, whereat concentrated sunlight is collected and converted by a solar panel. As the target area changes position based on daily and seasonal solar movement, the position of the solar panel is adjustable to track the target area. The solar panel is guided by a repositioning mechanism, and both the repositioning mechanism and the solar panel are supported by a mechanical structure. The present invention discloses various embodiments for the repositioning mechanism and mechanical structure to enable tracking the target area two-dimensionally with minimal efficiency losses.

  • Publication number: 20180177644
Abstract: A system for sensing wetness in an ordinary diaper comprises a disposable sensor strip that adhered to a diaper's padding, and a portable yet non-disposable alerting device. The sensor strip has electrical circuit with conductive elements as wetness sensors, wherein a closed electrical circuit is formed when an amount of body fluid is present that subsequently triggers the alerting device. The sensor strip is electrically coupled to the alerting device with a portion wrapped around the alerting device, wherein the position of the wrapped portion is secured by the indentation or ribs around the outer surface of the alerting device. Locations of the adhesives on the sensor strip are designed in a way that the alerting device is fastened to the outer surface of the diaper without skin contact to the wearer and without contact to any adhesive, such that the alerting device is ready for immediate reuse.

  • Publication number: 20180157629
Abstract: The invention discloses a method for accessing and viewing Internet content on a portable device by means of a proxy server, which method reduces the amount of data transferred to the device and improves its performance. Based on the content of each part of a web page, the server calculates, assigns and saves unique identifiers for each of them. If the web page is revisited or refreshed, unique identifiers are calculated and assigned for parts of this revisited or refreshed page. Parts that have the same identifier as a part previously saved are not transferred as the part with the same identifier in a memory of the device is instead used for display. Various processes can be combined with this method to reduce the number of instances by which the display of the device is refreshed and to optimally adapt the settings of the server's browser.

  • Patent number: 9925453
Abstract: A motorized personal transportation article is provided to transport a person by wearing a pair of power-assisted motorized shoes, used in a normal forward walking action that provides a supplementary walking speed adjusted based on a user intended walking speed, even the intended speed changes during a mid-step. The sole of each of the shoes houses a relatively stiff plate coupled with conveyor assemblies in the toe and heel sections, respectively, which are connected by a relatively flexible portion. The assembly is designed to neutralize forces acting to disrupt its operation during walking while the flexible portion assists in bending the shoe naturally to maintain the natural walking balance and movement. Further, the flexible portion may equip with ribs or hinges for easier bending than twisting. The front and rear relatively stiff plates may make of twistable and bendable materials but to a lesser extent than the flexible portion.

  • Patent number: 9794516
Abstract: A system for telepresencing is provided with a user station at a remote user's location and a telepresence device at a local subject's location. Distance of objects around the local subject is sensed such that a selected distance between the telepresence device and the local subject is maintained. Eye features and gazes of the local subject and the remote user are sensed. The height of the telepresence device's display is adjusted automatically such that the eye level of the local subject matches with the eye level of the user's image in the display. When an intended eye contact is sensed, positions of the telepresence device, its display and a sensor hub that houses cameras and other sensors are adjusted, and a face image may be recreated at a different viewing angle to resemble an eye contact between the local subject and the remote user while preserving all other facial expressions.

  • Patent number: 8201093
Abstract: The present invention takes advantage of independent front-end and back-end processing schedules. On the back-end the data traffic is streamlined in order to optimize transfer speed, while on the front-end the user interface employs text boxes and other graphic-related resources to manage the display of information to the user. The user perceives the data entry as seamless and real-time, while the actual data transfer is restricted to the essential for the purpose of actual processing, which is performed by a remote server. The present invention thus reduces user perceived lag on data exchange with a remote server without requiring an actual increase on network transmission speed.

  • Publication number: 20110088684
Abstract: The invention discloses a solar concentrator that offers a low-cost option dimensioned for supplying energy to a household. The rays of the sun are reflected and concentrated to a point focus by a combination of fixed and movable reflectors, and the heat concentrated in that manner is directed to a stationary remote absorber from where it is used to generate energy to supply the house. A plurality of safety stoppers and barriers prevent accidental misdirection of the concentrated beam. The shape and geometric arrangement of the fixed portion of the reflector array is designed so that the average amount of light received by the stationary remote absorber is maximized for all solar positions within the system's working range.
