  • Publication number: 20100115454
Abstract: The present invention takes advantage of independent front-end and back-end processing schedules. On the back-end the data traffic is streamlined in order to optimize transfer speed, while on the front-end the user interface employs text boxes and other graphic-related resources to manage the display of information to the user. The user perceives the data entry as seamless and real-time, while the actual data transfer is restricted to the essential for the purpose of actual processing, which is performed by a remote server. The present invention thus reduces user perceived lag on data exchange with a remote server without requiring an actual increase on network transmission speed.

  • Patent number: 7538355
Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a display screen where pixels are addressed by a scanning LASER. The screen performs as a photo-amplifier circuit, producing light output at the region being illuminated by the LASER. This illumination produces electron-hole pairs forming two small currents, one of which subsequently results in a much larger electron or hole current from a specific region of the photo-amplifier. This larger current reaches an emitting region where recombination with other electrons or holes produces light. The duration of the light output is increased up to a frame period or more by increasing the duration of the larger current using various materials having properties that prolong recombination of electrons and holes in a specific device region. In another instance, a feedback effect is utilized by using the incident output light, which may be filtered, replacing the scanning LASER that has left the pixel.

  • Patent number: 7501770
Abstract: A laser beam, which scans a display screen comprised of an array of picture elements. Each picture element is further comprised of a photocell connected to an LED in the presence of an electric field. The laser's intensity and or duration on selected photocells produces the desired intensity of LED illumination for that pixel. The photocells convert photons from the laser into a current flow, which is accelerated and amplified by the presence of the electric field. With quantum efficiency significantly greater than one, it is possible to create a RGB color display screen activated by a scanning laser. LEDs may be arranged in an alternating pattern of red, green, and blue to form the color display. The LED may also be monolithic in construction, coated with an alternating pattern of red, green, and blue phosphors to form the color display.

  • Publication number: 20020192009
Abstract: The invention relates to a writing device capable of electronically recording what was written. A pen body comprising microelectronics, an acoustic emitter, an electromagnetic sensor, and a writing tip with ink reservoir is featured. A detachable cap also contains microelectronics, multiple acoustic sensors, and an electromagnetic emitter. Microelectronics in the cap determines the distance of the acoustic emitter in the pen body to multiple acoustic sensors, and by triangulation can determine the exact distance of the acoustic emitter located near the writing tip. Electromagnetic emitters and sensors are used to synchronize microelectronics with the sending times of each acoustic pulse. The exact distance of the acoustic emitter is also determined without electromagnetic emitters and sensors, by the difference in phase or timing of each pulse of acoustic signals, at two or more acoustic sensors. A computer may be used to generate a two-dimensional image map of what was written.

  • Publication number: 20020131671
Abstract: The invention relates to a high speed fiber optic packet switching device. A data stream is divided into standardized packets sent through the fiber optic network, where specific packet switches or routers sort and direct each single packet to its destination. Packets are generated in groups of slightly different phases and are sent to the switching device, whereby each packet in a group enters the input of the switch at the same time, and are made to constructively interfere with each other in the area of the output fiber through which the packet is intended to be routed. This allows the packet to instantly enter and travel along the new output fiber path towards its destination. In all other areas on the output side of the optical switch, packets destructively interfere with each other so that no packet enters any other output.
