Abstract: Access terminals are adapted to receive cell selection instructions directing the access terminal to connect to a target cell from a serving cell upon a channel release. The access terminal may determine whether one or more signal parameters of the target cell are above respective threshold values. If the one or more signal parameters are above the respective threshold values, the access terminal connects to the target cell. If one or more signal parameters are not above the respective threshold values, the access terminal continues with the serving cell. Wireless network devices send a channel release message at the end of an active call. The channel release message can include a cell selection instruction directing the access terminal to connect to a target cell upon channel release. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

A contact lever is arranged at least partially in an air gap in a magnetic circuit such that, in case of a short circuit, the interaction between current flow and magnetic flux within the air gap can result in an electrodynamic force effect, which leads to rapid opening of at least one contact point. A switching mechanism acts via a first operating connecting line on the contact lever to open the contact point and/or to keep it open. In case of overcurrent tripping, an overcurrent release acts, by a switching mechanism and via a second operating connecting line, on the switching mechanism to open the contact point and keep it open. In case of short-circuit tripping, the contact lever acts via a third operating connecting line on the switching mechanism to keep the contact point open.

Abstract: A method for optically detecting objects includes emitting light rays that are projected as a light line onto an object structure to be detected. The light rays are imaged on a matrix of receiving elements of a receiver to produce receiving element signals. The receiving element signals are evaluated by a triangulation principle to generate a distance profile. The evaluating includes: generating at least one evaluation window which encompasses a local range extending in a direction along the light line, generating a number of object points representing outputs of the respective receiving element that correspond to respective distances extending in a second direction, and generating a binary state information as a function of the number object points that fall within the evaluation window.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided providing users with the ability to create and produce multimedia devices. In one aspect of the present invention, users are provided with the capability to easily and seamlessly create slideshows using multiple forms of graphic elements instead of just still pictures. In another aspect of the present invention, users are provided with the capability to create and modify the DVD menu that is required for DVDs to function properly on conventional DVD players. In still another aspect of the present invention, users are provided with an intuitive graphic interface that simply and clearly explains the trade offs the user must make in deciding which mode to record the DVD.

Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and computer program products are described for adaptive clustering. Serving cells may receive measurement information from mobile devices, and may each form reporting sets including measurement information for various cells. A CoMP (coordinated multi-point) control unit may receive the measurement information from each of a number of serving cells. The received measurement information may be aggregated for a population of the mobile devices. Based on the aggregated measurement information, cell clusters may be formed to perform coordinated transmissions, each including a different subset of the cells. An indication of the determined cell clusters may be transmitted to respective cells.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a computerized method for creating and editing a multimedia item. The method provides a menu theme for a multimedia item. The menu theme includes a display section for displaying a multimedia item, an adjustable text section for displaying several selectable text options, and a special effect built into the menu theme for applying to the multimedia item. The method presents the multimedia item on display after applying the special effect to the multimedia item.

Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for automatically generating a slide associated with a slideshow. In one aspect, a method includes selecting an image for inclusion in a slideshow, where the image has associated facial detection information. A face location is determined in the selected image based on the facial detection information and the selected image is cropped based on the determined face location to generate a cropped image depicting the included face. The cropped image is inserted into a slide associated with the slideshow. Further, an animation having a defined animation path can be associated with the slide. Also, the face location can be identified as a position in the animation path and the slide can be animated based on the associated animation.

Abstract: A menu theme is created using a menu theme description file that contains a general description of each object (such as a drop zone area, selectable menu buttons, menu title, theme background, etc.) contained in the menu theme. In addition, the menu theme description file contains a path to one or more patch files for each object in the menu theme, the patch file being used to render the object. The patch file contains a description of an arrangement of modules including a list of the modules and relationships between them. In some embodiments, a patch file is created using a composer application that displays a graphical representation of the patch file and translates the graphical representation to a textual representation.
