Robert Burger has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 5738858
Abstract: Fatty hydroxyethyl imidazolines inhibit esterification of retinol into inactive retinyl esters. Thus, effects of the retinol or retinyl esters in combination with fatty hydroxyethyl imidazolines are analogous to treatment with retinoic acid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 1996
Date of Patent: April 14, 1998
Assignee: Cheseborough-Pond's USA Co., Division of Conopco, Inc.
    Inventor: Allan Robert Burger
  • Patent number: 5667793
Abstract: Anti-cellulite compositions based on a lipolytic active, which is an extract of Polygala tenuifolia, an extract of Platycodon grandiflorum, or an extract of Kochia scoparia. When Polygala tenuifolia or Platycodon grandiflorum is employed, a polar solvent extract is preferred. The extracts are preferably employed in conjunction with a xanthine, e.g. caffeine or theophylline (which are preferably obtained from a natural source), in order to lower the cost of the compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1996
Date of Patent: September 16, 1997
Assignee: Chesebrough-Pond's USA Co., Division of Conopco, Inc.
Inventors: Suk Hyung. Cho, Norman Kramer Richardson, Allan Robert Burger, Anita Marie Brinker, Mark Edward Rerek
  • Patent number: 5665367
Abstract: Quercetin and/or naringenin in combination with either retinol or retinyl ester resulted in a synergistic inhibition of keratinocyte differentiation. The effects of the retinol or retinyl esters in combination with naringenin and/or quercetin were analogous to treatment with retinoic acid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 1996
Date of Patent: September 9, 1997
Assignee: Chesebrough-Pond's USA Co., Division of Conopco, Inc.
Inventors: Allan Robert Burger, Stewart Paton Granger, Ian Richard Scott
  • Patent number: 4737326
Abstract: Process for the production of refractory shapes of ceramic fiber-containing mateial, wherein a slurry of refractory fibers and particulate refractory materials is produced in water, the particulate refractory materials are flocculated on the fibers by use of a flocculant, and the desired shape is produced by dewatering the slurry in a suitable mold that enables the water to be removed, and the shape is dried. At least 90% of the fibers have a maximum length of not more than 500 .mu.m; flocculant is added as an aqueous solution to the dispersion of the fibers and particulate refractory material; and pressure is applied to the shape being formed during the dewatering of the slurry to form the desired shape in order to compress the shape.

  • Patent number: 4728128
Abstract: A connection assembly for joining two parts having confronting ends with a joint therebetween, particularly ceramic pipes, includes a dimensionally stable coupling member surrounding the joint and at least one of the two confronting ends of the two parts to be joined. The coupling member is dimensioned to define a space with the at least one part end. This space is filled with a ceramic fiber mat material containing a swelling agent capable of volume expansion when subjected to a temperature above a given minimum temperature. As a result, upon being subjected to an operating temperature above such given temperature, the swelling agent swells the ceramic fiber mat material, such that the mat material is compressed between the coupling member and the at least one part end surrounded thereby, thereby connecting the two parts.

    Inventors: Alfred Frey, Robert Burger
  • Patent number: 4347806
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a liquid product to a workpiece includes a pump piston and cylinder unit for pumping the product through a valved outlet orifice, displacement of the piston being adjustable for controlling the amount of product dispensed, the piston being pneumatically operated, and a rotatable turret being mounted on the unit and having a plurality of seats for holding workpieces of different sizes. Liquid product passageways extend from the seats toward the outlet orifice, and one of such passage ways communicates with the orifice in a selected rotative position of the turret.

Inventors: Dennis J. Argazzi, Robert Burger
  • Patent number: 4245812
Abstract: A simplified device which dispenses accurate amounts of pressurized fluid, such as a liquid adhesive, upon application of force, e.g., finger pressure, upon a lever means which causes at least partial release of clamp pressure upon a tube carrying the fluid.
