  • Publication number: 20060055388
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-phase pulse width modulated voltage regulator and method in which transient voltage excursions or deviations that exceed the load line voltage by more than a pre-determined amount are detected by an ATR circuit and a correction signal is applied. The correction signal is in the form of asynchronous pulses and the number of such pulses is a function of the magnitude of the voltage excursion as determined by the number of thresholds that are exceeded. Also disclosed is an adaptive voltage positioning (AVP) circuit and method for early detection of a transient event by sensing voltage changes at the load and adjusting the target voltage with pre-determined current values prior to the time that ATR event changes in the current at the load are detected.

  • Patent number: 7013388
Abstract: Techniques for use in establishing a secure exchange of information between an end user and a server in a distributed network environment are provided in accordance with a context manager. The context manager is manageable within a vault process and maintains state information between successive user browser sessions with multiple application domains containing various applications. The context manager accesses data stored on a global level that spans applications and is available to multiple vault applications in different domains. The context manager also accesses data stored on an application level and common to a given application domain for a given sequence of operations within the vault application. The context manager accesses data stored on an instance level for a given sequence of operations within a given application domain.

  • Publication number: 20060001408
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-phase power regulator that accurately senses current at a load in a lossless manner and adjusts the power supplied to the load based on the sensed current. Also disclosed is a method of calibrating a multiphase voltage regulator by applying a known calibration current at the load and determining actual current values by the difference in measured values between when the known calibration current is applied and when it is not applied. The accurate current is determined at a known temperature and accurate temperature compensation is provided by a non-linear digital technique. Each phase of the multi-phase power regulator is individually calibrated so that balanced channels provide accurate power to the load. Also disclosed is a calibration method with minimal noise generation.

  • Publication number: 20050207542
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for on-demand recording of telephone, computer, or video signals. Once a connection is established, the communication signals are sent through an intermediary device, which duplicates the signals. The signals are then stored in memory until a triggering event occurs during the connection. If the triggering event occurs, then the signals in memory are stored for playback. If the triggering event does not occur prior to the termination of the connection, the signals in memory are erased.

  • Publication number: 20050081430
Abstract: A method of improving the combustion of a fuel by adding a catalyst or combustion enhancer at an extremely low concentration, preferably in the range of 1 part catalyst per 200 million parts fuel to 1 part catalyst per 6 trillion parts fuel. The catalyst or combustion enhancer may be selected from a wide range of soluble compounds. The method may comprise the steps of an initial mixing of the catalyst or enhancer with a suitable solvent and then subsequent dilution steps using solvents or fuel. Suitable solvents include water, MTBE, methylketone, methylsobutylketone, butanol, isopropyl alcohol and other hydrophilic/oleophilic compounds.

  • Publication number: 20050003741
Abstract: Apparatus and method to inject an air stream with dry ice or other sublimable particles to be blasted against a surface to be cleaned. An air lock assembly (20) with an air stream passage (21) and an intersecting conveyor passage (13) that has an endless cable conveyor assembly (38) passing through it. The conveyor (38) passes through a hopper (30) of dry ice particles before entering the air lock (20) and injecting the air stream with dry ice particles. V-seals packings (18) are provided as a means of limiting air form escaping from the points where the conveyor (38) enters and exits the air lock assembly (20). An adjustable speed motor (10) drives the conveyor (38) thereby giving an adjustable control of the ratio of dry ice to air.

  • Publication number: 20040193885
Abstract: A context manager supports creation, storage and retrieval of data to implement state maintenance in a vault process using “scoping” of multiple levels of storage. A user request is initiated by invoking an URL with embedded Application Domain and Instance Context. The URL request is processed by a Vault Supervisor to obtain a user ID and password to initiate a vault process running in a secure vault for the user. On vault process start up, access to the vault encryption/decryption keys are made available to the request. A global context file stored on disk is decrypted and read in to memory. If the global context file does not exist, a new global context file is created on disk. For each Application Domain, the application context is decrypted and read in to memory. If an application context file does not exist, a new application context file on disk is created based on the request. All Instance Context files are scanned to determine if they have expired.

  • Publication number: 20040125581
Abstract: Provided is a module for attachment to an existing backplane in a telecommunications system. In one example, the module provides high speed interconnect paths for transporting large quantities of data flowing through the system, while enabling the existing backplane to carry lower bandwidth power and control functions. The module may be easily added to a unit in the field without disturbing the operation of the system. In another example, the module may be used to provide the existing backplane with additional functionality, alternate connection types, or other modifications.

  • Patent number: 6652248
Abstract: A catalyst bed assembly, comprising: an outer housing having an open interior, an inlet leading to the open interior, and an outlet from the open interior; a catalyst bed in the open interior; and a gap between the outer housing and the catalyst bed. The open interior receives material from the inlet. A portion of the material enters the catalyst bed to expose said material to a catalyst so that the material and the catalyst react and create heat within the catalyst bed assembly. A remainder of the material enters the gap between the outer housing and the catalyst bed to cool the catalyst bed assembly. The catalyst bed assembly could be part of a turbopump assembly. The turbopump assembly would further include a nozzle downstream of the outlet; a turbine downstream of the nozzle; and a pump driven by said turbine.
