  • Publication number: 20230205295
Abstract: An example non-transitory computer-readable medium includes instructions to monitor a time-averaged power consumption of a computing device that includes a plurality of power-consuming components including a processor, and compare the time-averaged power consumption to a first threshold to detect if the time-averaged power consumption exceeds the first threshold. In response to detecting that the time-averaged power consumption of the computing device exceeds the first threshold, the instructions are to decrease an operational power of the processor from a normal operating power, and start monitoring an instantaneous power consumption of the computing device to determine whether to make a further decrease or an increase to the operational power of the processor.

  • Publication number: 20230114426
Abstract: An intermodal facility management system for facilitating delivery, pickup, facility access, and cargo management is presented. The system can receive data from clients within proximity of one or more wireless beacons. The system can capture data from clients that ingress or egress into or out of a facility, respectively, and validate received data with the captured data. The system can enable cargo transfer optimization by forecasting client arrival times to particular destination locations, and the forecasting can account for access point delays, such as can be due to an authentication process. The system can provide a measure of redundancy in ensuring that particular cargo is being sent to proper locations, and the system can further prompt facility personnel to ensure that cargo is accessible and ready for dispatch upon arrival of any given client.

  • Publication number: 20220382353
Abstract: An example non-transitory machine-readable medium includes instructions that, when executed by a controller, cause the controller to detect an emergency throttling event of a central processing unit (CPU) of a computing device, and, if the CPU has undergone fewer than a threshold number of emergency throttling events, increase a current maximum power limit of the CPU to an increased maximum power limit.

  • Publication number: 20220247806
Abstract: Remote device operation using data stream aggregations includes processing, during a performance of the event, input data streams representative of user interactions with user applications, such as to indicate levels of enthusiasm of the users with respect to occurrences within the event. Data of the input data streams are aggregated according to pooling constraints to determine data pools, which are then used to synthesize trends and trend velocities for determining an operation of a function of a remote device to cause. A signal configured to cause that operation is then transmitted to the remote device.

  • Patent number: 7848461
Abstract: A method for signal reception in a Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) communication system is provided. The method enhances the efficiency of signal reception in the MIMO system and simplifies the algorithms of signal reception and soft decoding metrics generation. In other words, soft decisions are generated according to correlations between metrics corresponding to least reliable bits based on MMSE linear estimation and noise variance estimation is provided to improve performance when an error is generated in channel matrix H estimation.

  • Patent number: 7184149
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for reducing error in interferometric fringe stability and reproducibility in an interference fringe generator. In one aspect, the method for reducing error in interferometric fringe stability and reproducibility includes providing a light source, positioning a grating to receive light from the light source and positioning a projection lens having a focal length F to receive light from the grating. The projection lens projects the received light upon an object of interest positioned substantially at a distance d1 from the lens. Typically the lens is positioned substantially at a distance d2 from the grating. The values of d1, d2, and F are related by d2 being approximately equal to d1F/(d1?F).

  • Patent number: 7023900
Abstract: A CDMA transmitter that limits the peak-to-average ratio to a selected maximum level. The CDMA transmitter comprises: 1) a first baseband combiner for receiving N baseband chip streams, each of the N baseband chip streams comprising a sequence of chips, each chip having one of a positive amplitude value and a negative amplitude value, wherein the first baseband combiner combines chips from corresponding time slots in each of the N baseband chip streams to thereby generate a first composite baseband chip sequence; 2) a data processor for detecting a first peak amplitude in the first composite baseband chip sequence that exceeds a pre-determined maximum threshold and determining an amplitude and a polarity of a first compensation pulse associated with the first peak amplitude; and 3) a pulse generator for generating the first compensation pulse having the amplitude and the polarity determined by the data processor.

  • Publication number: 20030162545
Abstract: Two radio systems are provided for each coverage area within a wireless communications system, each radio system supporting a different wireless communications standard with at least one of the standards being compatible with the other (such as the backward-compatibility of either of 1xEV-DO or 1xEV-DV with IS-2000). Both of the radio systems may have a sectored configuration for selected coverage areas while a combination of sectored and omni configurations are employed for the radio systems for other coverage areas. When communications with a mobile station utilizing one standard fails within a coverage area due to antenna, radio frequency path, or radio system failure, wireless communications with that mobile station is automatically resumed utilizing the other, compatible wireless communications standard.
