    Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a rule-based system and method for generating domain name orders from domain registrants in a standardized format, as required by a particular domain name registry. This method and system captures the data requirements of the various domain registries for ordering a multitude of different domains, creates a set of API based rules which will guide the user through order entry for a particular domain, and allows domain registrars to associate these rules with a particular domain.     Abstract: A receptacle (10) for use in collecting samples down a well bore (14) is provided, the receptacle comprising a plurality of interconnecting modules (22, 24, 26, 30, 32, 34). A main chamber (22) is capable of holding a sample, and sensors (58, 60, 62, 64) within the chamber detect physical and chemical characteristics of the sample. Valves (50, 52) in a chamber wall seal the chamber (22) after a fluid sample has been collected. A communication means is placed in communication with the chamber (22) so as to provide an externally accessible port which communicates with the inside of the chamber (22) and allows detection and analysis of sample characteristics without removing the sample from the sealed chamber (22). The chamber (22) includes a piston (82) which is adjustable to keep pressure constant in the chamber and a heating element (58) to keep temperature constant. A method for sampling downhole fluids is also provided.

    Abstract: A control system for a hydrocarbon well is also disclosed. A control valve system is used to control the flow of fluid being produced by the well. A real time sensor is provided downhole and is used to make real time measurements of phase characteristics of the fluid. A controller is used to control the valve system so as to reduce the risk of undesirable phase transitions in the fluid based on the real time measurements made by the sensor. The sensor includes an acoustic transducer configured to emit acoustic energy into the fluid at a level which causes a phase transition in the fluid. The controller determines the level of acoustic energy emitted into the fluid, and also determines the pressure associated with a phase transition using the level of emitted acoustic energy.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for determining the flow rates of fluid phases in a pipe containing multiple fluid phases. A Venturi is provided to measure total volumetric flow rate measurement and a holdup measurement is taken approximately 3-10 pipe diameters downstream of the Venturi. The holdup measurement is made at a downstream location where a substantial amount of mixing occurs and the differences between the velocities of the fluid phases can effectively be ignored. The flow rates of the phases can thus be determined directly from the holdup measurements.

    Abstract: A system and method of fluid analysis in a hydrocarbon borehole is disclosed. Acoustic energy is emitted into the production fluid downhole at a level which causes a phase transition in the fluid. The pressure associated with the phase transition is determined using the level of emitted acoustic energy. Advantageously, the determination of the phase transition pressure need not rely on mechanical means to substantially alter the volume of a sample of the fluid. An acoustic transducer can be installed either semi-permanently or permanently downhole in the well. The bubble point or the dew point can be detected. In the case of bubble point detection, the bubbles in the fluid can be detected by sensing variations in impedance of the acoustic transducer, and the level of emitted acoustic energy can determined by measuring the electrical energy used to drive the transducer. A control system for a hydrocarbon well is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Provided herein are writing instruments which include a first end portion from which characters may be dispensed, such as an inkpen tip, and a second end portion comprising a correction tape dispensing means. Through use of the present invention, a writer who makes an error using an ink may conveniently invert the writing instrument from an initial position having the inkpen in contact with the paper being written upon, to a second position in which the correction tape dispensing means is in contact with the paper. Such a 180 degree change in the position of the writing instrument is all that is needed to render the writer able to apply a sufficient portion of correction tape to an error in the process for its correction. Through use of the present invention, convenience is increased, while exposure of the writer to harmful volatile chemicals as in the cases when a correction fluid containing a volatile organic compound, such as a halogenated hydrocarbon, is used.
