Abstract: An apparatus includes a sampling probe having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is configured to penetrate inside a wall of a duct having an inner chamber that is configured to carry a gas stream containing particulate matter therethrough. The first portion is further configured to divert a sample of the gas stream from the inner chamber of the duet to the second portion that extends from the wall of the duct opposite the inner chamber. The second portion of the sampling probe is configured to direct the sample of the gas stream in a first direction with a second direction corresponding to a direction of the gravitational force of the earth. A first ray corresponding to the first direction forms an angle ? with a second ray corresponding to the second direction. The angle ? is less than 90 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20190186834
Abstract: Methods of manufacturing a current collector assembly may include iteratively solving a model on a computer. The model may utilize received inputs including a variable number and arrangement of conductive elements to determine as an output a heat distribution within a hypothetical current collector assembly. The methods may also include identifying as a solution to the model a number and arrangement of conductive elements coupled with a current collector that produces a contained heat distribution within the hypothetical current collector assembly. The methods may also include manufacturing the current collector assembly, and the current collector assembly may include a defined plurality of apertures within a refractory base of the current collector assembly in a pattern configured to receive the number and arrangement of conductive elements identified as the solution to the model.

  • Publication number: 20180268611
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach for generated recordings from augmented reality systems from the perspective of a camera within the system. Instead of re-using rendered virtual content from the perspective of the user's eyes for AR recordings, additional virtual content is rendered from an additional perspective specifically for the AR recording. That additional virtual content is combined with image frames generated by a camera to form the AR recording.

  • Publication number: 20180159756
Abstract: A monitoring and messaging system for monitoring status of a plurality of assets. The system includes a data collection and normalization module configured to accept data originating from a plurality of sensors and to convert the data to normalized data for subsequent processing by the system. The system has an identification module configured to receive the normalized data and assign a subset of the normalized data generated by one or more specific sensors of the plurality of sensors to an asset selected from a plurality of assets. The system has an analysis module which includes a database of asset rules defining status states of the asset. The analysis module is programmed to receive and compare the subset of normalized data with a subset of asset rules to determine a status state of the asset. The system also has an action module which is configured to receive the status state of the asset, generate a message representing the status state of the asset and to transmit the message to a concerned party.

  • Patent number: 9956717
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a method for modifying an input image to map to a three dimensional shape prior to forming the three dimensional shape. The method includes receiving by a processor at least two pre-forming images of a locally unique non-repeating pattern printed on an input material. The at least two pre-forming images are captured prior to the input material being formed into the three dimensional shape. The method further includes receiving by the processor at least two post-forming images of the pattern printed on the input material, wherein the post-forming images are captured after the input material has been formed into the three dimensional shape and analyzing by the processor the at least pre-forming images and the at least two post-forming images to determine a translation table.
