  • Patent number: 10445703
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for preparing reminders for calendar items (i.e., tasks). More specifically, a calendar item may be created using a calendar application or the like. Once created the reminder is strategically scheduled to provide the reminder to the user associated with the calendar item early enough such that the user can be reminded in a convenient and helpful manner, and will have a chance to perform any necessary tasks prior to the calendar item.

  • Patent number: 8284676
Abstract: In a network diagnostics system, network topology discovery determines the links that make up the network, artificial call quality management determines the set of test calls that need to be made to test the network, and real call quality management collects call-quality data about real calls in the network. The set of test calls is reduced by calls that would duplicate paths, or portions of paths, of the real calls, and artificial call quality management performs only the test calls of the reduced set and collects call-quality data thereon. Analysis analyzes the combined data of the real calls and the test calls to determine the possibly-bad call paths in the network.

  • Patent number: 8041642
Abstract: A predictive software license balancing system for allocating a predetermined number of software licenses between two or more license servers located at different sites. Each license server compiles software license usage statistics and shares the usage statistics with the other license servers. Based in the compiled software license usage over time, the software license usage for each site is predicted and the available software licenses distributed accordingly, thus balancing the number of software licenses available at each site based on predicted software license usage.

  • Patent number: 7984378
Abstract: A meeting management application that permits the manipulation of meetings by groups is provided. The meeting management application incorporates or is associated with a scheduling application for receiving and maintaining meeting information. The scheduling application may additionally check for conflicts between scheduled meetings and other meetings and events. The meeting management application may additionally include or be associated with a grouping application. The grouping application may permit the creation of groups of meetings having one or more specified items of associated information. Once a group of meetings is defined, modifications to information associated with each meeting within the group can be applied to the included meetings globally.

  • Patent number: 7885896
Abstract: The present method for authorizing a substitute software license server allows the software provider to approve the temporarily usage of the customer's substitute license server to process application file usage requests when the host license server fails. The host license server is assigned a unique host identification for authorizing simultaneous usage of a plurality of application files having the same host identification, thus preventing a substitute license server from authorizing usage of the plurality of application files without obtaining host identification. A software provider server connected to the substitute license server via a network connection downloads a temporary identification and application files having the temporary identification to the substitute license server to allow the substitute license server to process the application file usage requests that are received by the substitute license controller.

  • Patent number: 7847686
Abstract: An automatic appointment reminder system uses location and/or direction of travel of the reminder recipient relative to appointments to affect the time of sending of appointment reminders to the user, and thus enhances the user's ability to be on-time for appointments.

  • Patent number: 7827240
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for specializing calendar items. More specifically, a user or number of users may receive a calendar item having certain original parameters. The receiving user may wish to adjust those parameters for a subset of users that may or may not include the calendar item originator. The receiving user can then specialize certain parameters of the calendar item and transmit them to the determined subset of users without sending the same specialized calendar item to users outside of the subset that received the original calendar item.

  • Patent number: 7707115
Abstract: The period software licensing system allows the customer to create a software license schedule that includes one or more time periods during which application file usage is allowed and identifies the maximum number of concurrent application files allowed during the corresponding time period. The software license schedule may include a plurality of time periods each having a different corresponding maximum number of concurrent user allowed. The software management system authorizes concurrent usage of application files based on the time period during which an application file usage request is received and the number of concurrent users presently authorized.

  • Patent number: 7565325
Abstract: A multi-site software license balancing system for allocating a predetermined number of software licenses between two or more license servers located at different sites. Each license server compiles software license allocation and availability data and shares the allocation and availability data with the other license servers. When the number of allocated and available software licenses falls below a predetermined number and software licenses are available at an underutilized site, software licenses are transferred to the overutilized site, thus balancing the number of software licenses available at each site.
