    Abstract: To securely and reliably hold a high-voltage, for example service-line voge (110 V, 220 V) halogen incandescent lamp within an outer envelope (2), and forming an electrical connection terminal to a screw-in, or straight-wall tubular base sleeve (3a, 43a) of a standard base, for example of the E14 or of the B22d type, a punched sheet-metal element (5, 5', 5", 25, 48, 48') is clamped around a projecting end portion (1a, 20a, 41a, 41a') of the halogen incandescent lamp; the projecting end portion, preferably, is a pinch seal, and the punched sheet-metal element is formed with a lower part and an upper part, in which the upper part clamps around or against the pinch seal. The lower part is partly located within the base sleeve and mechanically, and preferably electrically secured thereto. The pinch seal, preferably, is formed with a transversely extending rib, and the clamping portion is formed with a matching locating notch to ensure axial retention of the halogen lamp in the base.

    Abstract: To permit ready insertion of a holding frame for a filament into an essentially tubular bulb, particularly a halogen incandescent lamp bulb made of quartz glass or hard glass, the frame has two legs extending along the wall of the bulb, connected by a holding portion to hold the filament at the end remote from the current supply leads to the filament, one of the legs of the frame is shorter than the other, for example only about one-third the length of the bulb. The longer leg of the frame can be pinch-sealed in a pinch seal closing off the bulb. The holding portion, which is intermediate the two legs, is preferably U-shaped to form a hook into which the filament can be hooked; or, particularly if the legs of the U are close together, about which the filament can be wound.

    Abstract: To reliably secure a sealed light source bulb element (1a), for example a logen incandescent lamp, to a standard screw-in base, for example an Edison E14 base, while surrounding the sealed bulb element (1a) with an outer bulb, a support carrier (8, 8'), for example of nickel-plated steel wire, is bent into essentially ring shape and seated on a ring seating surface (9) formed on a base sleeve which carries the Edison thread. The outer bulb (2) is formed with an extending neck (2a) cemented into a cylindrical extension from the base, leaving a small gap from the seating surface to define a groove within which the ring-shaped portion of the support carrier is located. The support carrier ends in a bent-away portion, bent out of the major plane of the ring-shaped portion of the support carrier, into engaging position with one (5) of two current supply leads (4, 5) which extend from the sealed light source bulb element, and is spot-welded to that lead.

    Abstract: To support a filament, or filament structure, in a halogen incandescent l, which may have a V or U filament, a straight filament, or be of the lumiline type, support ribs are placed within the lamp, which support ribs are formed from the lamp bulb material itself, by deforming the lamp bulb after local softening, for example by punches or by applying a vacuum, to provide interiorly extending, essentially tubular ribs. The tubular ribs may have circular or oval cross section, and can be placed to engage the filament to, for example, pinch the filament therebetween. In the pinching regions, the filament preferably is straight or only single-coiled and may be supported by a core pin.

    Abstract: To reliably retain a filament (13) axially aligned in a bulb (2) of a halogen incandescent lamp, a first current supply lead (8) is shaped to engage the inner wall (14) of the bulb at spaced corners or bend points (16, 21, 22, 424), the corner or bend points being connected by connecting legs (17, 18, 425). The legs and corner points can be arranged in triangular configuration (FIGS. 1-3; FIGS. 10-13) or in cross shape (FIGS. 4-9), and the remote end (15) of the filament, weld or push-connected to the connecting legs or end portions of the current supply lead. The polygonal corner and bend point engagement with the inner wall of the tube provides for substantially improved resistance against vibration of the filament; the engagement of the first corner or bend point, which bends the upper portion of the current supply lead towards the interior of the bulb and towards the filament, upon vibration, results in axial deflection, thereby maintaining the filament in axial position and preventing lateral excursion.
