  • Publication number: 20240137331
Abstract: Computing resources are managed in a computing network comprising a computing service provider and an edge computing network. The edge computing network receives an indication of a disconnection of communications between the computing service provider and the edge computing network. In response to the indication, the edge computing network initiates an autonomous mode at the edge computing network. The edge computing network is configured to continue providing computing and network services at the edge computing network while the edge computing network is operating in the autonomous mode.

  • Patent number: 11956131
Abstract: Described are examples for providing end-to-end intent definition of network functions for network slice management. Intents are defined for each level of network constituent including slices, slice subnets, and management functions. A system of intent based network slice management includes a network slice management function (NSMF) configured to receive a service profile from a communication service management function (CSMF) and derive an intent for each desired network slice subnet for a network slice subnet management function (NSSMF). The NSSMF is configured to derive requirements for a plurality of network functions (NFs) and provide an intent defining the requirements of a respective NF to a network function management function (NFMF). The NFMF is configured to receive the intent for the respective NF via an intent-based interface for management of NFs and derive a network resource model (NRM) for the respective NF based on the intent.

  • Patent number: 11930390
Abstract: Described are examples for providing intent based network slice management using a management data analytics function (MDAF) to predict deficiencies. A network management system receives an intent for a network slice constituent. The network management system configures computing resources for the network slice constituent to satisfy the intent based on expected performance of the computing resources. The network management system receives feedback with respect to actual performance of the network slice constituent. The network management system determines, based on analysis of the feedback by a management data analytics function (MDAF), a predicted deficiency of the network slice constituent not being able to satisfy the intent. The network management system modifies the configuration of the computing resources based on the feedback and the predicted deficiency to satisfy the intent.

  • Patent number: 10049135
Abstract: Context-based data analytics based on visual intuition, and generation of information contexts for conducting research, analysis, and/or decision making. A plurality of information objects (IOs) are generated, each IO indicative of a plurality of data points corresponding to an object among objects for which information in a first domain is obtained, by containing information values (IVs) based upon context data, an IV generated based upon a product of each target data point, a relevance value (RV) of the target data point, a confidence value (CV) of the target data point, and a bias value. Visually displaying the IVs in a three dimensional space based on a distance formula to represent a relative relationship indicative of relevance as gravitational forces between the IOs using a set of concentric spheres corresponding to the IOs.

  • Patent number: 9714558
Abstract: A method for forming a lateral junction in an open hole section of a wellbore includes lowering a tubular member through a cased section of the wellbore. Thereafter, the tubular member is expanded in an open hole section of the wellbore, thereby anchoring the tubular member in the wellbore in a manner that leaves an open hole section of the wellbore between the expanded, tubular member and the cased section. Thereafter, a window is formed in a sidewall of the tubular member, and a lateral wellbore is drilled through the window.

  • Patent number: 9507367
Abstract: A dynamic stochastic optimal power flow (DSOPF) control system is described for performing multi-objective optimal control capability in complex electrical power systems. The DSOPF system and method replaces the traditional adaptive critic designs (ACDs) and secondary voltage control, and provides a coordinated AC power flow control solution to the smart grid operation in an environment with high short-term uncertainty and variability. The DSOPF system and method is used to provide nonlinear optimal control, where the control objective is explicitly formulated to incorporate power system economy, stability and security considerations. The system and method dynamically drives a power system to its optimal operating point by continuously adjusting the steady-state set points sent by a traditional optimal power flow algorithm.

  • Patent number: 9410996
Abstract: A system is for a plurality of different electric load types. The system includes a plurality of sensors structured to sense a voltage signal and a current signal for each of the different electric loads; and a processor. The processor acquires a voltage and current waveform from the sensors for a corresponding one of the different electric load types; calculates a power or current RMS profile of the waveform; quantizes the power or current RMS profile into a set of quantized state-values; evaluates a state-duration for each of the quantized state-values; evaluates a plurality of state-types based on the power or current RMS profile and the quantized state-values; generates a state-sequence that describes a corresponding finite state machine model of a generalized load start-up or transient profile for the corresponding electric load type; and identifies the corresponding electric load type.
