  • Patent number: 9754704
Abstract: A method of making a thin-film multi-layer micro-wire structure includes providing a substrate and a layer on the substrate with one or more micro-channels having a width less than or equal to 20 microns. A conductive material including silver nano-particles and having a percent ratio of silver that is greater than or equal to 40% by weight is located in the micro-channels and cured to form an electrically conductive micro-wire. The electrically conductive micro-wire has a width less than or equal to 20 microns and a depth less than or equal to 20 microns. Each micro-wire is electrolessly plated to form a plated layer located at least partially within each micro-channel between the micro-wire and the layer surface in electrical contact with the micro-wire. The plated layer has a thickness less than a thickness of the micro-wire so that the micro-wire and plated layer form the thin-film multi-layer micro-wire.

  • Publication number: 20170220922
Abstract: The operation of an application on a first device may be guided by a user operating a second device. The application on the first device may present a character on a display of the first device and obtain an audio signal of speech of a user of the first device. Audio data may be transmitted to the second device and corresponding audio may be played from speakers of the second device. The second device may present suggestions of phrases to be spoken by the character displayed on the first device. A user of the second device may select a phrase to be spoken by the character. Phrase data may be transmitted to the first device, and the first device may generate audio of the character speaking the phrase using a text-to-speech voice associated with the character.

  • Patent number: 9716874
Abstract: A source video comprising 2D image frames is acquired, and an image frame including two or more motion vectors describing motion in the image frame is obtained, wherein each of the motion vectors is associated with a region of the image frame. A parameter is calculated for the following: (a) a lateral speed of the image frame, using the motion vectors, and (b) a direction of motion of the image frame, using the more motion vectors. A deformation value is generated using an algorithm that uses both of the parameters, and is applied to the image frame to identify a modified image frame. The modified image frame is blended with a bridge frame that is a non-solid color and different from the modified image frame, to generate a blended frame. The direction of motion and velocity of motion parameters are calculated from the motion vectors.

Abstract: An atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment system includes a plasma source including at least one electrode, a gas in a gas chamber, and an AC power supply that supplies power to the at least one electrode to form a plasma in the gas. A radial-flow surface has a jet nozzle through which the gas flows and the radial-flow surface has a surface profile that conforms to a nonplanar treatment surface of an object. The radial-flow surface is separated from the nonplanar treatment surface by a gap that is less than 2 times a diameter of the jet nozzle so that the gas flows radially outward from the nozzle and between the radial-flow surface and the nonplanar treatment surface.

  • Publication number: 20170200075
Abstract: A succession of conversations is facilitated between a user of a device and a non-human companion portrayed on the device, to develop a relationship between the user and the nonhuman companion over a time period that spans the successive conversations. The relationship is developed between the user and the non-human companion to cause a change in a state of the user over the time period. A conversation is facilitated by presenting a segment of speech of the non-human companion to the user and detecting a segment of speech of the user, the segments including a portion of the conversation. At the device, information is received from an intelligent agent about a next segment of speech to be presented to the user, as determined by the intelligent agent based on intelligent processes applied to the segment of speech of the user and to the change in state to be caused.

  • Patent number: 9676640
Abstract: A method of making a micro-channel electrode structure includes providing a curable layer and imprinting the curable layer to form an electrode micro-channel and a fluid micro-channel in a common step. The electrode micro-channel intersects the fluid micro-channel to form a micro-channel intersection. The curable layer is cured to form an imprinted cured layer. Both the electrode and the fluid micro-channels are filled with a developable material that is exposed with an electrode pattern including the electrode micro-channel and extending from the electrode micro-channel into the micro-channel intersection without occluding the fluid micro-channel. The exposed developable material is developed to remove the developable material from the electrode pattern and the electrode micro-channel and the micro-channel intersection corresponding to the electrode pattern are at least partly filled with a conductive material. At least a portion of the remaining developable material is removed from the fluid micro-channel.

  • Patent number: 9644267
Abstract: A method and apparatus that may be utilized for chemical vapor deposition and/or hydride vapor phase epitaxial (HVPE) deposition are provided. In one embodiment, a metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) process is used to deposit a Group III-nitride film on a plurality of substrates. A Group III precursor, such as trimethyl gallium, trimethyl aluminum or trimethyl indium and a nitrogen-containing precursor, such as ammonia, are delivered to a plurality of straight channels which isolate the precursor gases. The precursor gases are injected into mixing channels where the gases are mixed before entering a processing volume containing the substrates. Heat exchanging channels are provided for temperature control of the mixing channels to prevent undesirable condensation and reaction of the precursors.
