  • Patent number: 7325156
Abstract: In one embodiment, and under control of resources belonging to a controller domain of a data center, a farm server for which a backup operation is to be performed is identified. Interfaces of backup services belonging to the controller domain are then virtually associated with the first farm network. Thereafter, the farm server and backup services are registered in a backup domain of the data center, the backup domain being associated with backup storage. Via the backup services that have been associated with the first farm network, and during execution of the backup operation by the farm server, movement of backup data from the first farm network to the backup storage is facilitated by the method. After completing the backup operation, the farm server and backup services are un-registered from the backup domain, and the interfaces of the backup services are de-associated from the first farm network.

  • Publication number: 20060154595
Abstract: An exhaust system is provided for a plurality of machines, each machine having an exhaust stream connected to a local branch of the system. The system includes a stabilizer connected to an exhaust line in parallel to the exhaust stream of a machine. The stabilizer controls an exhaust pressure in the exhaust stream by opening and closing in response to variations in the exhaust pressure; the stabilizer opens to admit gas flow into the exhaust line when the exhaust pressure is less than a predetermined value, and closes when the exhaust pressure is greater than that predetermined value. The stabilizer unit thus provides a constant static exhaust pressure. The stabilizer provides relief flow in the exhaust stream, causing the gas flow into the exhaust line to increase when an exhaust flow in the exhaust stream decreases.

  • Publication number: 20050213586
Abstract: Data flows in a network are managed by dynamically determining bandwidth usage and available bandwidth for IP-ABR service data flows and dynamically allocating a portion of the available bandwidth to the IP-ABR data flows. Respective bandwidth requests from network hosts are received and an optimal window size for a sender host is determined based upon bandwidth allocated for the data flow and a round trip time of a segment to provide self-pacing of the data flow.

  • Publication number: 20050121533
Abstract: A system and method of protecting production tooling used in semiconductor fabrication from potentially damaging low temperatures or sudden temperature drops during periods of primary power outage and low outside temperatures. The boilers and pumps at a central utility plant (CUP) which normally provide superheated water under pressure to heat exchangers in each building to be heated are cut back to a fraction of their normal heating capacity during periods of primary power outage, although air continues to be exhausted from, and outside air taken into fabrication buildings. In the present invention, an additional heat exchanger is placed in each building which houses production tooling, and the coolant from the engine used to drive the generator for powering the air handling equipment in the building may be selectively directed through one of the flow paths of the second heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 6006199
Abstract: A method and system are provided for automating validation and payment within a Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) system having a number of trading partners linked via an independent (or proprietary) communications network utilizing an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Planned orders for production items generated via a Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system and/or orders for non-production items are utilized by a purchasing system to create a purchase order which is then transmitted to a supplier via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). A planned receipt list of items is created based upon the purchase order and utilized to validate those items listed within an advanced ship notice. In response to such validation, or after correcting any discrepancy in accordance with listed tolerances, an authorization for payment is automatically generated and payment is issued.
