  • Publication number: 20220138489
Abstract: A method of real-time video event detection includes: obtaining, based on a natural language query, a query vector; performing multimodal feature extraction on a video stream to obtain a video vector, obtaining a similarity score by comparing the query vector to the video vector; comparing the similarity score to a predetermined threshold; and activating, based on the similarity score being above the predetermined threshold, an action trigger. The multimodal feature extraction is performed using a plurality of overlapping windows that include sequential frames of the video stream.

  • Publication number: 20220086401
Abstract: Training a classifier using embeddings and building a latent space is disclosed. The embeddings may be based on weights in a trained machine learning model. Also, operation of the classifier to process video segments in real-time using the using the weights and the latent space is disclosed. The embeddings and the latent space allow the classification to be performed at an overall reduced dimensionality. The latent space is designed to efficiently scale with an increasing number of queries to permit fast search through the space. Embodiments permit real-time operation on video with dynamic features. The classifier reduces the bandwidth demand of video camera-equipped devices at a network edge by setting aside, accurately, non-informative video sequences rather than uploading video too many things over the network. Applications include security cameras, robots and augmented reality glasses.

  • Publication number: 20210373405
Abstract: Example electrophoretic dispersions for use in electrophoretic displays are provided. An example electrophoretic dispersion includes a first chemical entity and a second chemical entity. The first and second chemical entities are to be induced to reversibly interact to switch between a separated state and an optically active state in response to a change in an electromagnetic field passing through the electrophoretic dispersion to change an optical property of the electrophoretic dispersion. Electrophoretic display devices, methods for operating electrophoretic display devices, non-transitory machine-readable storage mediums, and methods for producing electrophoretic dispersions are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20210264134
Abstract: A method may include receiving, by a virtual assistant of a user device, an input from a user, the virtual assistant being based on software. The method may include obtaining, by the virtual assistant of the user device and via a sensor of the user device, audio information or video information of the user. The method may include determining, by the virtual assistant of the user device, an identity of the user based on the audio information or the video information of the user and a set of facial embeddings and speech embeddings that is correlated with the user, the set of facial embeddings and speech embeddings being generated using a facial embedding model, a speech embedding model, and a sound source localization model. The method may include performing, by the virtual assistant of the user device, an action based on the input and the identity of the user.

  • Publication number: 20210203904
Abstract: The disclosure describes aspects of a display processing circuitry. In an aspect, one or more displays that support multiple views include one or more arrays of pixels, one or more backplanes, and a processing circuitry configured to receive one or more data streams, control processing of the data streams based on policies from which to select a mode of operation, each mode of operation defining which rays of light the arrays of pixels in the displays are to contribute to generate a particular view or views and the tasks to be performed by the processing circuitry to modify the data streams accordingly. The processing circuitry further provides signaling representative of the modified data streams to the arrays of pixels through a circuit configuration of the backplanes for the arrays of pixels to contribute the rays that will to generate the particular view or views. A corresponding method is also described.

  • Publication number: 20200409598
Abstract: A data storage system can connect a data storage controller to a host and a data storage device. A first reference state corresponding to a first zone of the data storage device can be incremented in response to a first version of data being assigned to the first zone by the data storage controller. A second version of the data may be written to a second zone of the data storage device prior to populating a recently freed list with the first zone having an incorrect reference state. The first zone can be allocated by the data storage controller for new data without altering the incorrect reference state that is subsequently written to the first zone as directed by the data storage controller.

  • Publication number: 20200293973
Abstract: A method and apparatus for incentivizing and ranking customer service agents is provided. The method begins with the completion of a customer service interaction. The customer service agent sends the customer a tip option message inviting the customer to leave a tip if the customer is satisfied with the service. The customer message includes a link to allow the customer to enter a tip amount. Once a tip amount is entered, the customer is redirected to a payment gateway where the customer selects from multiple electronic payment options to leave the tip. The payment gateway reports the tip to the subscribing company, who then records the tip amount in a customer service agent record. The subscribing company may then rank the customer service agents based on the tips received during a pre-selected period of time.

  • Publication number: 20200008757
Abstract: A portable wearable health monitoring device which may be clipped to a user's clothing or strapped to their arm or area that doesn't affect a user's work or movement. The invention may monitor heart rate, tell time and date, monitor gas readings, and monitor temperature. It is equipped with a loud decibel alarm to alert other monitors linked with the device that there is an emergency. The alarm can be manually operated, automatically by heart rate reading being dramatically too low or too high, or by a connected person nearby to get help and notify others of emergency.
