  • Patent number: 9146404
Abstract: A primary lens element fabricated of laser protective glass has proximal and distal faces, a central extent and a peripheral extent. A secondary lens element fabricated of lead oxide has proximal and distal faces, a central extent and a peripheral extent. The secondary lens is operatively coupled to the primary lens forming a lens laminate ground to form a composite lens with a prescription. The composite lens has a central extent of an enlarged thickness and a peripheral extent of a reduced thickness.

  • Publication number: 20120290976
Abstract: Techniques for presenting a three-dimensional (3D) anatomical representation of an anatomical structure are described. 3D models of various anatomical structures may be stored as prepackaged anatomical data. A user device, e.g., a networked workstation, may receive the prepackaged anatomical data from a networked computing device, e.g., a server, and present at least a portion of a 3D model as a 3D anatomical representation. The user device may also present a menu with the 3D anatomical representation that allows the user to manipulate the 3D anatomical representation and measure various aspects of the 3D anatomical representation. In some examples, the user device may also present a representation of a medical device in conjunction with the 3D anatomical representation.

  • Patent number: 7806006
Abstract: Strain gauges are mounted on each crank arm of the bicycle and provide a measure of the torque applied to each crank arm. In a preferred embodiment, strain gauges are mounted on opposite edges of each crank arm, which includes a self-contained power, electrical circuitry, and a wireless transmitter for transmitting the strain measurement information to a main controller. The main controller includes a wireless transceiver for transmitting and receiving data from both the left and right crank arms and external devices. Memory is also included for storing such data for subsequent analysis to determine the individual leg performance of a cyclist during a race or training session.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 8, 2007
Date of Patent: October 5, 2010
