  • Patent number: 6996496
Abstract: A magnetic 3D-position/orientation measuring device measures the position of a receiver in a measurement space. A control device computes correspondence between a measurement space and a real space based on the measured value and a real-space value, which corresponds to the measured value and which indicates the position of the receiver in a real space. Also, the control device corrects an error of the measured value measured by the magnetic 3D-position/orientation measuring device based on the correspondence between the measurement space and the real space, the error resulting from the ambient environment.

  • Publication number: 20050251411
Abstract: A content sharing system and content importance level judging method are provided. The content sharing system provides an importance level of arbitrary content is individually judged with respect to users and a notice message valuable for a user is appropriately notified to a client or the outside tool. Further, an access user is able to set the disclosure level of access record of a user accessed the content. In the content sharing system, an importance level of content of multimedia data on a server shared with clients of a plurality of users is judged, in which the importance level of the content with respect to each user is individually calculated by interpreting existing data or a user environment, the client condition is judged, a notice rule setting is changed in accordance with the client condition or an instruction from the client, and a notice message is issued to an appropriate address based on the calculated importance level and a notice rule of the content.

  • Publication number: 20040230452
Abstract: In a regional attribute determination method for determining a regional attribute representing an attribute of people gathering in each region, user information including the locations and attributes of a number of users is acquired from a number of portable information terminal devices used by the number of users, the acquired user information of the number of users is stored in a user information storage part, and the regional attribute is determined on the basis of the user information of the number of users stored in the user information storage part.

  • Publication number: 20040155100
Abstract: An information processing method provided, wherein an identifier (ID) corresponding to an object is obtained based on information input from a sensor for detecting the object, and the obtained ID is continuously and repeatedly input to an information processing unit. The information processing unit compares a program that is set based on a newly-input ID with a program that is set based on an already-input ID, and ends the currently-executed program when the two programs are different from each other. In this method, by putting an object in a sensor effective area, a program corresponding to the ID of the object is started, and by removing the object from the sensor effective area, the program is ended.

  • Publication number: 20040130579
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided which allows a user to easily and intuitively manipulate information in a 3-dimensional virtual space. In the information processing apparatus, a main controller sets a first coordinate system in a real space on the basis of information associated with a real object and further sets a second coordinate system in a 3-dimensional virtual space corresponding to the real space on the basis of the first coordinate system. If a user places an input device at a particular position and angle in the first coordinate system with reference to the real object, the main controller places an object in the 3-dimensional virtual space at a place and angle in the second coordinate system corresponding to the place and angle of the input device in the first coordinate system, and the main controller displays an image of the object placed in the 3-dimensional virtual space on a display.
