  • Patent number: 7876657
Abstract: An information recording apparatus, an information recording system, a program, and a recording medium are disclosed, by which contents are legally recorded to another information recording medium. Copy-once contents stored in a first optical disk are written to the second optical disk. After this writing is completed, a laser light having power equal to recording power is irradiated to the first optical disk so that reproduction of the copy-once contents in the first optical disk is made impossible. In this way, the copy-once contents stored in the first optical disk are erased, and the contents are moved to the second optical disk without jeopardizing the “copy-once” attribute of the contents. That is, the contents can be legally moved to another information recording medium.

  • Patent number: 7366061
Abstract: High speed access to an information recording medium is possible by preparing information relative to a lower level recording unit, e.g., a fragment, which is set smaller than a higher level recording unit, e.g., a session. A fragment identifier, typically, a fragment number is assigned to each fragment, sequentially and in ascending order. A fragment number (greatest fragment number) that is greater than any other fragment number in the session is recorded in the information recording medium for each session. When reproducing a desired fragment, a controller acquires the greatest fragment number of each session sequentially from the first session, and compares the greatest fragment number of the session with the fragment number of the desired fragment. When the greatest fragment number that is equal to or greater than the fragment number of the desired fragment is found, the desired fragment is searched for from the top of the session.

  • Patent number: 7339868
Abstract: An information recording method records information to a multilayer recording medium in which a number of record layers are laminated and recording of information to each record layer is possible. When an amount of the information being recorded to the medium does not exceed a maximum amount of information which can be recorded to the medium, the information being recorded to the medium is divided into data blocks by the number of the record layers. The data blocks are recorded to data areas of the respective record layers so that the recording areas of the record layers where the data blocks are recorded are overlapped each other with respect to a thickness direction of the medium.

  • Patent number: 7236696
Abstract: A camera comprising the following components is disclosed: a vibrating motor which drives a focus lens of an image-taking optical system, and a control circuit which controls the vibrating type motor to repeatedly drive and stop the focus lens, extracting higher frequency components from an image signal obtained from an image pickup device in each stopped state of the focus lens, and performing focus adjusting operation in accordance with a focus adjustment state of the image-taking optical system determined on the basis of the higher frequency components. The control circuit causes traveling wave vibration to be generated on the vibrating member of the vibrating type motor when the focus lens is driven and causes standing wave vibration to be generated on the vibrating member while the focus lens is stopped during the focus adjusting operation.

  • Publication number: 20070025199
Abstract: A controller determines whether an optical disk has been formatted (S1), formats the optical disk by recording a lead-in area in the recording area of the optical disc if the optical disk has not yet been formatted (S2), records content data in a contents area of the optical disk, and at the same time stores data that may be used as index information separately from the content data being recorded (S3). When a recording stop command is issued, the index information is generated (S6), a file system is recorded so that the content data and the index information can be recognized by other apparatuses, an anchor point is recorded, a temporary lead-out area is recorded, and the process is ended.
