  • Patent number: 7023284
Abstract: In a dual loop PLL having a frequency comparison loop and a phase comparison loop, when an input control circuit 30 of an up/down counter 8 receives an UP signal from a frequency comparator 7, the input control circuit 30 outputs a positive value of a ½ of a previous addition/subtraction result value. When the input control circuit 30 receives a DOWN signal from the frequency comparator 7, the input control circuit 30 outputs a negative value of a ½ of the previous addition/subtraction result value. A register 33 stores a count value. The adder 31 adds the output of the input control circuit 30 to the output of the register 33. Thus, the up/down counter 8 increments or decrements by a ½ value of the previous addition/subtraction result value, and the dual loop PLL performs a frequency comparison based on a dichotomizing search method. Therefore, even when the output frequency is high, the frequency comparison is efficiently performed, and the lock up time is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060017087
Abstract: A supplemental capacitor is formed using the large capacitance between the wirings (M11 and M12) and that between the through-holes (B11 and B12) because of downsizing of the process technique. The inter-wiring capacitor and inter-through-hole capacitor can be arranged at any optional position within the semiconductor device. The supplemental capacitor can be easily formed in the vicinity of the area where switching noise is generated, thereby effectively realizing the countermeasure for power source noise. In the process technique with advanced downsizing, a capacitor having large capacitance can be formed with a smaller area. In addition, the capacitor can be formed in the same process as the other device such as a transistor without adding any special step.

  • Patent number: 6917441
Abstract: An image recording/reproducing apparatus includes an image signal processing unit which transforms original image data with a first resolution, supplied from an image input device, into a processed image signal with a second resolution. A recording signal generating unit transforms at least one of the original image data and the processed image signal produced by the image signal processing unit, into a recording form. An image recording device stores the processed image signal in the recording form, produced by the recording signal generating unit, into a storage unit, the recording form of the processed image signal being suited to a predetermined data format on the storage unit. An image reproducing device transforms the processed image signal in the recording form, read from the storage unit, into an output-form signal, and displays an image on a display monitor in accordance with the output-form signal.

  • Publication number: 20050063290
Abstract: An information recording method records information to a multilayer recording medium in which a number of record layers are laminated and recording of information to each record layer is possible. When an amount of the information being recorded to the medium does not exceed a maximum amount of information which can be recorded to the medium, the information being recorded to the medium is divided into data blocks by the number of the record layers. The data blocks are recorded to data areas of the respective record layers so that the recording areas of the record layers where the data blocks are recorded are overlapped each other with respect to a thickness direction of the medium.
